No way, can't stand the fella. He’s just a taller Aaron Lennon. If he’s who we’re aspiring to then we may as well go home now.

Never mind where Klopp plays his players. Sane is a left winger and has never played right so he would be cover for Mane if we ever brought him.
Dont think he fits Klopp's system on the left. Btw, where was Mane playing before that Klopp put him on the left wing, did he ever played left winger before? Mane was playing right for Southampton but if you think Klopp is being clever and doing this on purpose you are wrong. Mane was moved because Salah can only play on the left, that is his position.

I am sure Klopp is doing that on purpose, Klopp's wingers are not the typical traditional ones who would usually cross the ball for a CF, they are usually meant to cut inside and shoot with their strong shooting foot, thus the right footed player plays on the left and vice versa. Our full backs play more the traditional winger role. This is why our wingers usually score more than or CF and our full backs have a lot of assists. So this was not done because of Salah, but Salah was bought because he fit the system.

Unfortunately I don’t have your (or G’s) encyclopaedic knowledge of players. But let’s just look at what young Griezmann might be going for. Rumour has it he can go for £105m release clause. He’s a World Cup winner and champions league regular. Then for £20m less you can have a lower - mid table player from the premier league who’s already failed at a big club (yes he was young but if you’re good enough you’re old enough) who can run fast. That’s not to say we’d get Griezmann or even go for him but if we as a club want to improve and aspire to improve, spending £80m on Zaha isn’t my idea of that. If it’s yours then good for you. If it’s the clubs then god help us.

Btw, Griezman is 28, so I won't call that young and I can bet we won't buy a player of his age for that kind of money. I would also add that I said Zaha would be expensive for 80m. Coming to our ambitions, I would be very pleasantly surprised to see us spending 100m on a player, whatever the age, is this what you think will happen?

We can’t all be as clever as your good self (or G) so you’ll have to make allowances for some of us.
And 28 is young to me.

Not saying we’ll go for Griezmann. Just highlighting what £20m more than Zaha is ‘worth’ will get you. He’s not worth half that for me and won’t improve us apart from the fact that unlike Sturridge, for example, he may be able to play two games in a row.

I think we will have to trust Klopp and his team on this one, we were all surprised when we paid £35 million for Mane, the general consesus was we overpaid, now he looks like a great bargain and if we sold tomorrow he would be £100+ million.
I like Griezman but he doesn't fit the FSG profile at 28 as there is no sell on value, especially if he will cost £100+ million.
But looking at the comments, we all agree we want a quality forward who can fit in with the existing 3, Brewster is coming through, but it would be unfair to put all the pressure on him to come in and cover the front 3, Sturridge is leaving and Origi may leave, even if he stays, he is more a break glass in emergency option than a like for like replacement who can fit into the front 3.
The transfer gossip has started already, we have a shorter window again this summer, Man Utd have been linked with everyone, with Chelsea having a transfer ban and lots of our rivals like RM & Utd not looking as inviting, it might be the time to move for a big player and we might land them.
