Oh for sure on Phil. We rinsed Barca, his fee paid for Alison and VVD with some change lefft over.

Suarez was one of the best players in the world when he left, he's done well at Barca and won trophies as people have said, Coutinho was a very good player, but he hadn't become one of the best players in the world when he left, I wouldn't even say he was world class, but he has time as he is 26, the problem is he has also had to replace one of the greats in Iniesta, the fans are fickle in Spain, at the money we fleeced out of Barca, they expect top class players who win games on their own, Coutinho rarely did that.

We spent the Coutinho money wisely, we wasted most of the Suarez money and we didn't get enough when we sold him, I think that was partly why the Coutinho fee was so big.

We sold Saurez and got Ballotelly. We sold Couthino, with Neymar affect, and got VVD who we bought pre Neymar affect.

We are were we are through luck and not through shrewd business moves.

Although I would agree that we could have spunked the lot on a load of [oops] but considering our past, even FSG have a limit at how much spunking they can do.

Things seemed to have turned around since Ayre was replaced.

Edwards' record is pretty spotless atm.

Its not just the buys we are making that are working well, it's the prices we are getting for players who have not have made it at Liverpool for whatever reason, we always seemed to be selling players cheap to get them off the books, now we are getting good prices:

Ibe - £15 million
Solanke - £17 million
Sakho - £26 million
Stewart - £8 million
Wisdon - £4.5 Million
Benteke - £27 million
Ings - £20 million

I don't think we'll end up having the expected 135m for Coutinho, depends on the targets hit, however, I think we will get to 120m which was great business.
