Redordead's stats clarify the situation. Moreover, Juventus aren't completely stupid and would only be interested in a player like Salah, at the price tag we'd demand, if they thought he was the real deal. Yes - defenders are ready for him but their preoccupation is allowing freedom to Mane etc.

Keep him and buy.

Astute comments there Derek. As far as Mo is concerned, last season was his "perfect storm". Everything went right for him, the team's playing style, the opportunities and freedom he was given.
His confidence is down and the team is playing with different tactics this season and Mo does not look anywhere near a "complete" striker at all.

He still manages to get his share of jiggery-pokery goals though.

Shows you how good he is when he has a dry spell for 7 games and only 1 goal behind Aguero. He is our best attacker and we should never sell, as he is a vital cog in the spine of this team.

Exactly. All this talk of selling him because he’s had a dry spell is ridiculous.

This is salah apparently in his worst run of form, so the worst we can expect from salah is that he’ll bag a load of assists, run his ass off, track back and still pose a nuisance for the defence giving them something to think about and dragging them out of positions. This is the ABSOLUTE WORST we can expect.
And he’s still in a shout for the golden boot. Regardless of this season he’s stil the premier league record goal scorer in a season and that was only a year ago. The truth is outside of messi, any club anywhere would trade any of their players for salah. We’d be absolute fools to sell him.

I think the service from midfield isn't there to the same extent as it was last season. The midfield aren't pushing up with the high press to the same extent, due to Klopp's more "pragmatic" tactics. This season Klopp has favoured "solidity" over all out attack, consequently Salah and the other forwards have had to rely on creating their own scoring opportunities to a much larger extent.
Having said that though, I think Salah is proving to be easier to muscle off the ball this season. Could that have something to do with his shoulder injury in last season's CL final? Possibly either physiological or psychological? Or is it opposition tactics?

Salah is too wasteful when having the ball. They take the ball away from him as if he doesn't exist. He takes to many touches in the box. Last season 2 touches was enough and the ball would be in the net. Yes defenders are all over him now, but he is too predictable now.

We should switch him and Mane for a bit. Mane is just as good on the right, and being on the left would make Salah less predictable

I think I'd put him in the centre, probably using a 4231 setup, especially for the easier games, if such exist. There's no doubt he's become too predictable and defenders are reading his every move, however in a 4231 setup it would be more of a handful for defenders, and they wouldn't find it as easy to put 2 or 3 on him as they currently Do. Mane is pulling us through currently, but we can't expect him to win every game for us, we need to mix it up a bit.
