Echo reporting that Liverpool have been handed a triple fitness boost ahead of Saturday's Premier League clash with Bournemouth at Anfield. Trent Alexander-Arnold, Jordan Henderson and Gini Wijnaldum all took part in training at Melwood on Thursday afternoon as the Reds cranked up their preparations for the visit of Eddie Howe's side. TAA is targeting a return at right-back this weekend after missing the past three matches due to a knee ligament problem. Henderson (minor muscle injury) and Wijnaldum (sore knee) were both left out of the squad for Monday's 1-1 draw at West Ham after complaining of discomfort in training. However, the experienced midfield duo have responded well to treatment and could feature against the Cherries.
Dejan Lovren, Joe Gomez and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain remain sidelined. https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/fo...-boost-15798011Problem here is that they are all niggling problems that could be made worse if they aren't 100%. It's likely all 3 will only make the bench and we'll still have to start with a similar lineup to the West Ham game. Bournemouth have just thumped Chelsea 4 nil and have the likes of Solanke chomping at the bit to prove Klopp wrong.

Lallana made an impact when he played, he created the first goal. I don't understand the hate.

Do we have City’s money to acquire such bench warmers?

And the point is? we know City have a much better squad than us, that is not good management, that is having a much richer owner and not running the club as a business. At the end of the day, Man City have skewed the PL, we, Tottenham, Arsenal, Chelsea, Manu Utd have fairly similar strength squads, we all have good first teams and decent squads, but most of those teams are bringing in a lesser player if a first teamer is out, if Tottenham lose Kane or Chelsea lose Hazard etc, City are the only team who can pretty much maintain their quality (apart from the GK probably). So the fact that we have competed with them so far this season is us punching about our weight, same for Tottenham, the gulf in points to the other team shows the difference in squads.

Come on.. I don't hate the guy, but Lallana's done. He was awful.
There's no reason to dislike a player for injuries or becoming ineffective, but I suppose people are frustrated that his calibre of player is in the starting 11.

Shouldn't we at least try to improve our squad even if we cannot match City completely? Most of the time we bought in Jan we reinforced well, for example Coutinho, Sturridge, VVD, Suarez.

We should improve, we are improving, pretty much all Klopps signings have improved the squad and he has been trying to clear out the players he doesn't want, we can see that as he's not playing them, even if he cannot sell them as there are no buyers or they will not leave due to the huge contracts they are on. But you cannot compare City's bench options with ours, they are much better, as they are not being ran as a real business, we are. I'm all for buying better players and improving the team, I'm sure we will in the summer, I was hoping we would buy reinforcements in January, but didn't surprise me when we didn't, it did surprise me when we let players like Solanke & Clyne leave, in my mind that weakened our squad in January, but Klopp does it his way and he's producing good results.
