Out best game so far with the best midfield performance. Don't know if it is because of the opponent but we definitely need to carry on with the same midfield when fit, at least we'll know how they manage against stronger opponents. Shaqiri has been the attacking difference from midfield whenever he's played.

Shaqiri has been the attacking difference from midfield whenever he's played. Yeah, Shaq runs forward with the ball and creates space/can play a cutting pass, similar to how we were with Ox, that helps the front 3 as they get chances and it commits the opposition defenders, creating panic & space for the strikers. Wij/Hendo/Milner are solid, but they do not create enough and do not move forward enough/create/score goals, so as a combo they just don't do enough creatively. I hope Klopp keeps the same MF at the weekend, will be interesting to see how they do against a dour Neil Warnock Cardiff who will try and nullify the game for a 0-0, but I think Klopp may switch Milner for Fabinho, as Fabinho will not be used to playing a Warnock type team!

The man was a Titan. Jeeesus we have our new Midfield General. And the side was balanced, fluid....wow. How can Klopp prefer Hendo over him ffs?

Fab was fabulous! In total he won 18 (!) duels yesterday (in comparison to Henderson's average of 1.9 per game and Milner's 4.3. He had 90% passing accuracy, won 9 out of 12 tackles and also won every head duel he was engaged in (6). He created 2 goal opportunities and had 30% of his passes going forwards to one of the four offensive players - That is to be compared to Jordan Henderson's and Gini Wijnaldum's average of about 13% of their passes going forwards into the final third of the pitch. He was monumental! Hats off!

Same here, I also fancy seeing Fabinho/Keita/Shaq, the CL style game suited Fabinho last night with his experience, PL games are abit different with the pace and pressing, especially playing Warnocks Cardiff at the weekend, that won't be like a CL game !

Great to see the ball being moved forward at speed and accuracy again, and to see our front players back on song, what a relief, and what a performance from both Shaqueri and Fabinho. I have to confess I had my doubts about Shaqueri, but I'm eating my words here now, he was the difference last night, and ably assisted by a brilliant performance from Fabinho and Wignaldum. Klopp got everything spot on last night with his selection and the 4 - 2 - 3 - 1 lineup. I'd love to see this selection and lineup tested against a PL side, maybe Cardiff at the weekend. Then if it works, I'd consider it against Arsenal. One could argue that RedStar were poor, but maybe we made them look poor, becausewe looked back to our very best last night.
