I don't think they were yes he has come on as sub and scored a few goals but the last three years he has hardly played and hardly set the world on fire at West Brom. I want him to do well but let's speak again if we get a season from him and he can last 90 minutes in a game

Accusing him of not wanting to play or stealing a wage is rubbish. Period.

Not trusting him to stay fit is something else, and fair play. But I can't stand when people accusing him of not wanting to play football.

I think going to WBA showed him how his career could go, so he's come back to try and make the best he can, he's worked hard in training and got on with it, so good luck to him, makes you wonder if he could have done this a few years ago though?

I rather think that he is fitter this season as he hasn't been injured, so far. Otherwise, it will be the same story and not getting injured is not under his control.

Absolute manure!
Until FSG suddenly decided to ditch the buy low in quantity approach this past season, Sturridge was our best paid player for a number of years with not far off zero contribution to validate his wage. A couple of goals here and there (even Saturdays worldie) is not a satisfactory output from a player who has been paid such an exorbitant amount over the years.
He has been a major reason why we have fallen short in the time he has been at the club because for a large part of his time he's not been available because of his extremely low tolerance to pain threshold. He has been a thorn in our side and if we'd have known just what he would bring after his one worthy season alongside Suarez 13/14, we could have sold him and had a worthier player actually contributing earning his wage.

I'd be appalled if we offered him another contract on the back of a few cameo appearances.

Sturridge has been unprofessional in his time at Liverpool falling victim to mysterious injuries and attitude problems. Most of us thought his career was over I don't mean at Liverpool I mean in the top flight. But for whatever reason he seems to have grown up and made a big effort to force his way back in the team. For that he must be given credit but we have been here before let's see if it continues through the season then look at it then

Are you part of the LFC medical staff, never heard of this from the manager or LFC communication. Don't understand why anybody would blame anybody else of getting injured while doing their job, as if he was doing it on purpose, I suppose you have never been injured or sick.

As I often said, I consider Sturridge to be a bonus when fit. Now I'd add he's worth every penny of Henry's money when he's saving us from ignominious defeats! Long may we have such a game changer in our locker, this is the kind of thing every successful side need, and we needed him on Sunday last, did we not?

Footballers are human same in any job. There are those who shake off minor ailments and come to work. There are some who phone in sick at the slightest sniffle.

Looking forward to hearing medically what has been up with him the last 5 years or so I understand Vish is compiling a list for us

This is a list of injuries he had before he went on loan to west brom. Hip injuries, hamstring problems, ankle ligament damage. He's had surgery 3 times in the past 4 years, and he's gone to America and all over Europe to the best fitness specialists and surgeons he can find to get himself fit. He's tried everything, and finally got himself to where he can play consistent minutes again.

Have you ever had surgery before, Stan? It isn't exactly the thing you do to get out of work. It's usually something of a difficult ordeal and painful. You don't just grow up and decide to try harder to get over it. He's been through hell as far as injuries are concerned. I for one am made up for him to be back and scoring for us, because he's a class striker.
