And if we’d bought him and his knee went in a week you’d moan then too. Can’t win really.

Isn't that the beauty and luxury of being a fan though wilkij? The only shortcoming is we don't get paid...could a sustainable case be made for profit sharing with fans I wonder?

So should we have bought him with a dodgy knee?

Yes we can be pretty hamfisted with the odd exception, which proves the rule as they say. I think it's driven by a desire to shave the last penny from the fee and wage, which must be exceedingly annoying for those we negotiate with. Anyway the good Klopp'o has proven to be obstinate enough to finally get his man despite it all, fortunately.

So should we have bought a player with a dodgy knee? Simple enough question even for you.

I wonder what risks the fans are taking, to request a profit share.

well I know you are very smart wilkij, yet you've managed to miss my point. My point was: we already knew about the Knee injury, and reported subsequent complications. We had a medical that raised some concerns, but according to reports we then organised a video session and jersey allocation, then we had a second medical which according to reports didn't completely support the first medical report, then we had a period of confusion as to whether we had signed him or not, then we sat like rabbits in headlights until his club's chairman came out and publicly announced that we hadn't signed him after all! Hamfisted? No? Strange way to do business? No? Typical Liverpool signing antics? No?

Oh so FSG were just trying to fool us? That old chestnut.

We knew he’d had a knee injury, about two or three seasons back. I’ve not seen any reports of a second medical with everything I read at the time stating we saw something on an X-ray of his knee. So not sure where this s come mefical has come from?

We made a video of him mainly because we wanted a deal done as soon as because he was off to play for France in their final friendly before flying out to Russia. Nothing more than that.

So no, I didn’t miss your point, it being that FSG have tried to dupe us once again. Simple fact is we saw something in a medical that could effect his longevity and either pulled out or tried to get financial assurances. In other words were sensible. Nothing more, nothing less. Take the tin foil hat off and life is a wonderful thing (I’m sure there’s a shitte poem there somewhere).

And you still haven’t answered my question. Should we buy a player who we know has a dodgy knee?

We were right not to buy him imo.

But why did we need to make ourselves look like fools with the Jersey and Interview sessions before he was even signed?

That seems to be typical Liverpool: Doing things in the wrong order. Like speaking directly to VvD without having the owner club's permmission.

Píss poor timing and strange behaviour overall.

Sounds like we were rushing it through to sign him before he left for the WC, most of us were happy we were tying the deal up quickly, so we can't really blame FSG for trying to do something we were all lauding them for, like we did for the Fabinho deal.

Hercules will always find a way to blame FSG because they don't have the Sheiks money to throw away.
