The FSG net spend per season is a contentious subject. Folks will remember when FSG splurged 86m when they first came in 10/11 season on the likes of Andy Carroll and Luis Suarez etc... but that same season FSG still managed to rake in 90m selling the likes of Torres and Mascherano etc... giving them a PLUS net spend of 4m.
11/12 Season -38m 12/13 Season -53m 13/14 Season -22m 14/15 Season -46m 15/16 Season -30m 16/17 Season +4m 17/18 Season +5m 18/19 Season so far -97m
If you're an accountant looking at the facts without any feelings or emotion then you would have to say our next course of action would be to sell before we buy. The fact we STILL have the likes of Sturridge on 120k a week, Mignolet on 70k a week, Ings on 60k a week, Markovic, Moreno etc... I believe FSG's number crunchers are keeping the purse strings tightly closed until this season's net spend figure is drastically reduced!

I would rather say we have so far spent what we didn't spend last season (or money left after selling Coutinho) and and what we would have spent this season without CL money of last season. This is why I think we should have about 80m to spend without sales.

Also we now have increased revenue from the Main Stand, TV money has gone up, Sponsorship has increased, We earned allot in CL run, but players fee's & Wages have gone up. Remember, players aren't usually bought immediately upfront, so if you buy a £60 million player, you might pay £20 million a year for 3 years, allot of transfers now have bonuses paid for appearances/trophies etc, like we did in Coutinho's deal.

Theyve said that any money brought in by revenue or players is available to spend.
We spend a lot. No player who leaves is actually wanted. Coutinho aside.
We've broken multiple transfer records with FSG and have had more than decent success in the market.

I think the main stand additional revenues are being used to pay back the investment and I reckon we have 50m now from the EPL compared to the 30m we used to have. The way you buy players is not very different to the way you pay, so that evens out. The main difference last season was the 70m we received by reaching the CL final.

When I was a nipper, accountants had very little interest in football, they were mostly rugby snobs, but now it seems every football fan is an accountant!

Liverpool aim to wrap up £12m deal for Xherdan Shaqiri before they leave for their tour of the United States.

Shaquiri's a great buy to cover the front 3, plus we have youth and doesn't seem like Sturridge is going anywhere.
Keita and Fabinho cover the midfield so 'realistically' we only need a top keeper. Desperately need a top keeper I should add.
