Turns 30 in a fortnight. Past his best. Just another Harry Kewell. Get shut in summer because he'll get injured on England duty for sure.

Lovren missed the ball, what good piece of play?

He missed the header, but Dzeko's control and finish were pretty exceptional.

This is what you should expect from a good player, however, an exceptional keeper would have saved it as it was at his first post. The opportunity was obtained because of shyte defending from Lovren.

I've seen De Gea let in similar goals.

Yes Lovren made a mistake, but the rest of his game was pretty good. Even excellent players make mistakes.

I have also seen De Gea save similar balls and the quality of defenders and goalkeepers depends on single mistakes because they cost goals, not their overall play. It's not the first time Lovren made such a mistake, he did it against Spurs and United from what I remember in this season. Being pretty good and do such mistakes is not good enough for any defender, specially as it is recurrent.

It isn't a goal keeping mistake. Let's be clear there.

As for Lovren, maybe you're right. But I'm not sure of any defenders out there that don't make such mistakes. Ramos is probably the most highly rated defender on earth and he certainly makes such errors. So does Chielinni. So does Thiago Silva. Or Matts Hummels. Or Boetang. I've seen all of them do it this season.

Never said it was a goalkeeping mistake but an outstanding keeper can save it because it is at his near post.

Yes, lot of defenders make mistake but Lovren does it more often and missing a header is nothing new to him, it was not the first time even this season and surely not the last in his career. Are you trying to say he is a top defender?

I'm saying we put a lot of pressure on our defenders and keepers in particular. As fans we tend to get on players' backs at the drop of a hat.

For the most part, he had a very good game. Imperious at times. Dzeko, apart from that chance, was feeding off scraps, and we all say what these guys did to Barca. And Chelsea. And Atletico. Chelsea and Atletico in particular are known for their defensive prowess.

Lovren probably needs to be upgraded in the summer, but he's the best option we have until the end of this season. Getting on his back with massive games coming up feels unhelpful to me.

Any decent keeper and CB would of sorted that situ out without any bother.

That job interview was going so well until I realized I was fukked up on acid in the middle of a cornfield naked and talking to a scarecrow.
