Three nil up and no city away goal. One would expect LFC fans to be confidemt but how many like me confess to still being apprehensive ? City are certainly capable of beating us four nil or three nil and go to penalties.

However this tie I think will be about defence liverpool obviously want to hold the lead and city don't want to concede the away goal. So funny enough I expect a tight first half what we don't want to do is concede an early goal.

This tie won't be a walkover and Klopp needs to be on his mettle the interesting thing is defending is in neither managers nature.

Funny enough a city win against united would also favour us and come Saturday tea time I will (with pint in hand in Manchester) be supporting the blues

I keep thinking how they steam rollered us last September.
A truly horrible day. and yes, I do appreciate we went 1 man down, but quite often teams seem to play better with that disadvantage.
We certainly didn't.

I dread a scoreline of 2-0 to them with less than 10 minutes to go

I think they will score at least two, but I can't see them keeping a clean sheet. We will go through I think, but I doubt it will be as convincing in the second leg.

That would be too much having said that we have been through worse

They cannot chuck the kitchen sink as us from kick off, as they know we can hit them on the break, the longer the game go's on they will take more risks.

This will also depend on the team we can put out, if we have Salah, Mane & Firmino on the pitch they will be very wary of us on the break, if we can get a goal, they have to score 5, we defended pretty well in the second half, with VvD & Robertson now in the team, I don't see them getting 5, we are much improved defensively since they beat us at the Etihad.

It's a shame we cannot bring Grujic back, reports are he's done well at Cardiff as a DM, planning to watch him tonight against Wolves, he'd at least get a game against Everton and means we could rest Milner and Ox.
