Whether be can perform at the top level for at least one complete season remains to be seen and rewarding a mis-firing player with more money seems premature. But FSG know what they are doing when it comes to money and business.

We're a big club, we just don't have a sugar daddy so selling players isn't to make a profit, it's to clear funds for re-investment. It means we won't have a team of super stars but with a man like Klopp at the helm, we could have a great team. I don't know know what the answer is apart from capping team spend completely, but then big teams would start swapping the best players, or find some other way round it. Capitalism = perpetual growth.

Owners want money through the team/fans and fans want success by buying the best players. QF of the CL suggests we're a big club.
