First one is debatable. Either way its a little bit concerning that the Ref goes with his initial decision when he ISNT CERTAIN whether Kane was offside when asked by the linesman. Then goes AGAINST his initial decision for the second one when the linesman flags. Second pen should not have been given because he was offside. This is what VAR would have and should have showed. Spurs were diving in the box all game. Ali got a yellow for it earlier in the game. They were getting frustrated because despite all of their possession they werent getting many clear cut chances. We defended well.
Bit disappointed we played the way we did, especially at Anfield, that being said we looked very tired in the second half. Hoping this isnt the same type of mid season slump we seen last year. We'll see how effective Klopps rotation policy has been to mitigate this in the next couple of games. Usually refs don't know who is offside or not, they rely on their linesmen as they cannot see from where they are positioned

Well it's difficult to see how much real rotation is left available to Klopp, especially up front, having shipped out his best replacement for any one of his front three. Would we be confident with Ings and Solanke up front against Southampton away? Or alternatively against Porto in the CL? If not, can he play all of Salah, Mane and Firmino on Sunday and again three days later? Would you be confident of using his available options in midfield either? When you consider how the legs gave way last Sunday you'd have to say the good Klopp'o has boxed himself in to a cul-de-sac here. For me our realistic rotation options have just taken a hammering. I'm just hoping against hope our results don't confirm my concerns.

Yeah fair enough points there t.f.p. And I hope your positivity is well founded. I do so want to believe it. Maybe if Klopp feeds them up on thick steaks and pasta, and hugs the bejasses outa 'em, they might perk up and make it through, we can but hope.

I think Klopp needs to rest Firmino in the weekend.
He has looked jaded recently, which isn't so strange considering his effort.
But who comes in for him?
And how about Salah? Should he be rested too?
Mané needs game time to get up to speed, so he's ready to go.
Can we use Ox in any of the advanced positions?
A front 3 of Mané - Ings - Ox?

An Ox in the box then? That's a new take on an old one, but I fear it might be a case of a Bull in the China Shop, it has to be Ings, like it or lump it.

4-4-2 then, with Ox in mf and Mané-Ings up top?

Infernal choice...but might cut it, if the Saints aren't feeling too Impish, but it's a hell of a place to find ourselves at the business end of the season.

A few months back it felt like we had a far deeper squad than last year.
A few Coutinho's and Sturridges later, and now we're even thinner than then, and that says a lot!

When we signed VvD, I thought we were much stronger than recent times, really set for the run in, with 2 cups to go for and second place, I never expected us to sell Coutinho until the summer.
Letting Sturridge go on loan feels like we gave in to the player, he wants regular football to try and get in the WC squad, but he's been plagued by injuries for the last 3.5 years, we've paid him huge wages, so he should have more loyalty and be willing to stay and fight for his place and do what's best for the team. I hope we win the CL and he's sat In studio watching it like Owen was.
