Arnold, Mingolet, Henderson, Moreno hadn't played a game since last year (ok, Arnold played 1 game) But not exactly a purring engine of a side was it?
Mignolet played against Burnley in January. TAA and Gomez have been rotated all season so nothing new. Henderson came on as a sub after injury. The team selected was more than strong enough to beat a struggling WBA side. Klopp's mistakes were selecting Mignolet and Moreno who everyone knows will let you down.

If you really wanted to counter my argument, you should of cited the Swansea game when we played played virtually the same side that beat City and we still got beat. At least we agree that we shouldn't have been beaten in either match. WBA particularly....

So Mignolet wasn't match fit? How have you worked that out? Moreno, fair enough and he shouldn't be anywhere near the team anyway. TAA has being in and out all season so there is no basis for saying he isn't match fit. Henderson came off the bench for 20mins after injury which is exactly how your supposed to ease a player back in.

There was an article comparing the two of them about 6 weeks ago. After an identical number of games Rodgers was on top for points gained, number of wins, win percentage and goals scored. Goals conceded was virtually identical. Those stats are damning and cannot be argued with. They prove beyond doubt that we are no better under Klopp.
I think that this has changed since as Rodgers 2nd season really skewed it in his favour, his third started his downfall Right now I would say the two managers have similar records. It is up to Klopp now to kick on. He's had time to mold the team to his style, now we want to see positive results on a consistent basis.

Somebody shared the stats here and it's quite close though Klopp's is a bit better so far. It will depend how things go now.

We're currently 3rd in the league and in a tough fight for 2nd, despite the massive budget differences between us and the 3 teams around us.
When Rodgers was sacked, Liverpool were 10th in the league. They'd also had a poor previous season and vastly detoriating results leaving it clear the team was on a downward spiral and he'd run out of ideas.
If we finish this season 6-7th, and next year the team falls apart and we're languishing mid-table, Klopp will have to answer for it. Right now I'd say he's doing a good job, certainly not great, but better than Rodgers.

This debate can only be settled next May or close to that if we're not doing well. Personally as I've previously said I hope we can at least get to 4th place and Klopp keeps his job. It's not that I think he's the be all and end all of a top manager, it's just that I think he's doing a decent if frustratingly slow building job, and he appears to be forcing the owners to compete in the transfer market for top quality players and that's vitally important if we're to progress. So despite his ridiculous egotistical arrogance in depleting the strength of his squad in mid season, I hope he gets in the CL next season and survives.

It sounds like Klopp is having to sacrifice some players/positions, to strengthen weaker positions, like we sold Coutinho where we are stronger as attackers, to buy VvD for defence where we are weaker.
I heard Klopp was asked about Aubameyang in a press conference, he basically replied he is a player who is in a position that he does not need, that is not 'I do not like him or he would not improve my team', to me it is clear Klopp has so much of a budget and is trying to use that to strengthen the team, so he has to be very careful who he buys and where for, as it sounds like he is on quite a stringent budget, so Klopp is juggling.
Man Utd are already a very strong attacking team with Lukaku/Rashford/Martial/Lingard/Zlatan, they have just added another top player in Sanchez on a huge pay deal that we could not afford, even if Klopp wanted him. Arsenal are similar bringing in Miki & Augbameyang, Man City can spend as they like, the Mahrez deal was basically to cover Sane, even they have their budget limits as we saw with Mahrez & Sanchez, where they wouldn't let teams/players take the p*ss.
So when we are judging Klopp, we need to remember that he is probably working in a much stricter budget compared to our major rival in Man Utd/Man City/Chelsea/Arsenal, who by size of budget should be finishing above us, I'm guessing Tottenham are on a similar budget to us, so we should be battling it out for PL 5th & 6th in real terms on budget, plus some of them have the pull of London.
If we do sack Klopp, who ever comes in will work with the same players/budget limitations while FSG remain, Klopp's buys have been very good IMO, mostly successes, compared to allot brought in under Rodgers rain (but maybe not brought in by Rodgers), we are playing good exciting football, I do not see how getting rid of Klopp will put is in a stronger position, while the parameters our manager whoever it is, is working under will restrict them as Klopp & Rogers have been restricted, if anything, sacking him will restrict us further as we will have to pay off his huge contract !!!

That job interview was going so well until I realized I was fukked up on acid in the middle of a cornfield naked and talking to a scarecrow.

Very well said.
Klopp's not infallible and certainly shouldn't be without criticism, but who would come in on this budget and do better?
Imagine a Pep or Jose coming? Jose can take top top players like Mikhitarian, try them a little bit, ruin them, then ship them out and pay £350k a week to a rivals' best player.
Even Arsenal have spent roughly £120m on strikers and the teams around us have much better cover now. An injury to Salah or Bobby and we could easily be out the top 4 come May.
It's a matter of time before Pocchetino gets whisked off to Madrid and we should be careful what we wish for with klopp.
