40 odd years of following forest rallying, spectating and marshalling.
Most disappointing, left a nasty taste, and spoiled an otherwise fine day on the Grizedale Stages rally near Windermere in The Lakes yesterday, when a interbreed and his mates thought it ok to hurl abuse at me whist trying to sort out 2 separate accidents and trying without much success, to control a very enthusiastic bunch of spectators endevouring to extricate the two competitors..
Petrol dribbling out of a fuel line on the first one, and a small fire on the second made for particularly trying stressful moments
Might have been slightly better employed coming down to give us all a hand rather than stand up on the embankment hurling your abuse and fat controller instructions,observations and threats [oops].
BIG thank you to the one and only person that backed me up. A very nice lady with purple hair who basically told him in her own way, to 'shut up and clear off'.;)

I have today told the organizers to sort this horribly dangerous junction out for future years, or they can count me out for future help.
I do NOT spend a small fortune going all the way up there, accomodation, fuel, time etc, to be verbally abused.

Dopesn't sound like fun. Not the sort of thing you expect at a motorsport event (or not one I've encountered at them anyway).

Apqart from me shouting at him to wind his neck in, I kept quiet, but I was actually seething with anger.
Just the sort of sh1t I didn't want or expect for me 'touchy' ticker.

Anyways, I've put a complaint into to the chief marshal of the stage, who has since passed it on to the event manager in readiness for the de-brief next month.
My suggestions to improve this location have duly been noted to prevent this crap from happening again in the future hopefully

Time for much tougher penalties to perhaps start focusing idiots minds a bit more.
Far too many have died as a result of these ignorant selfish arrogant couldn't give a flying turd tw@ts.

I suggest an automatic 12 month ban, coupled with a minimum £1000 fine, 9 points on the licence, and the offending 'phone to be destroyed in front of the offender on the spot.

The Police don't care too much about this. They'd rather keep the roads safe with speed cameras as it's a lot cheaper way of policing. This is way more dangerous than anything but drink/drug driving for me and needs stamping out. I'd also ban people from smoking while driving too.

You can't ban smoking Wilki,it would be like mad Max out there.
