As a liverpool fan and a scouser my dream is to play for liverpool
As a Brazilian with no connection whatsoever to liverpool his dream probably doesn't involve a club that doesn't win trophies.
We need to move on. I'm pleased he got his dream move and we got an obscene amount of money.
Serioulsy tho this hate for players who have different dreams than us needs to stop.

Its not hate BO,its the dawning of total and inevitable disappointment at the fact that our hopes are risen by prospects who blossom and then frustratingly abandon ship and around it goes again. Cant help but bang your head against the wall...DOH!

No different to what we do to Southampton every year We will never be madrid or barca and we won't be as attractive to foreign players because we aren't in the capital. It's extremely frustrating but it's not a new thing.

Coutinho and Suarez wanted moves abroad abroad. Let's hope we invest in the squad properly this time as I think that had more to do with our poor 2014-15 season than the fact we actually sold Suarez.
The only one I would question is selling Sterling at such a young age to a rival.

This is all true, i think all players no matter their nationality would use us as a stepping stone to something better im under no illusion however,i as no doubt the rest of us are fed up with one step forward two back with players at the minit.

Disappointing he pushed it through but no-one can blame him for wanting Barca after 4-5 years and not one medal. He did work hard to repay the faith and the club got £142m for him. I'm not bitter in the slightest.
Afterall, a player doesn't perform, people are calling for him to be dropped, sold, disgarded. Surely players like Coutinho have as much loyalty to clubs they've got no link to, as we have to players who don't perform to the highest level. People are annoyed because he's now world class and we can't keep hold of world class players. Fact.

Football is a business now, there is very little loyalty in football these days, the money is too big to have loyalty/morals, you have a chance with home grown local lads like Carra & Gerrard, but they are few and far between now, rarely coming through the academies and getting a chance.
As people have said, players are discarded if they do not make the grade, so there is little loyalty either side, so you can understand why the players can be mercenary.

For me it's more the owners/the club that are disappointing.
We had all the cards and managed to pìss it away anyway!
We should have declared: No sale now, because we need him for CL and for top 4. You buy him now and get him in the summer.
How much had that been worth? £ 20 m less?
As it went now we have shown every man and his dog that we are for sale at the right price at any time! And that is not good at all - only for our Cowboy owners perhaps!
