I've supported this club for 36 years but if this rumour is true then i think it may be time to take a break. It seems that every day this club moves away from what it used to be, to the point where i have nothing in common with it.
Since Kenny quit, we've had 4 different managers and i've disagreed with the appointments of all but one.
Souness: He had it easy in Scotland, had shed loads of money to spend on players and no real competition in a weak league. When it came to european games, he was found wanting. He had no managerial pedigree to justify managing our club. I predicted chaos and look what happened.
Evans: The only appointment i agreed with. He knew what the club was about, cared about the club and really did a terrific job of tidying the mess left by his predecessor. When he left, he left a young, up and coming squad. Given time, i believe we would have won the league again.
Houllier: No experience of english football and made a total pigs earhole of the France job. Also, no professional football experience. I thought this was a queer decision to appoint him and again predicted chaos. Again, i wasn't disappointed.
Benitez: My main reservations with Benitez was that he'd inherited Cuper's team, didn't select his own transfer targets and hadn't any experience of english football. Those concerns were justified when you look at his domestic failure and some of the players he signed. 70 players bought and we still couldn't find any consistency.
Pellegrini: No experience of english football and no connection to the club. We'll be looking at even more foreign imports that won't make the grade and we'll constantly be battling for 5th place.
On every forum i've been on, every poll i've voted on, the overwhelming fans choice for the job is Kenny Dalglish. We the fans pay the players wages, we pay for the clubs, we pay for the transfers. When the team are struggling, we're the ones who, despite our own disappointment, cheer the team on. We're the ones who turn up in rain and cold and pay over inflated ticket prices.
But when it comes to saying who we want as our manager, who is listening? It's just another example of how the club has lost touch with the fans and that's a sad indictment of how far LFC has fallen.
I just no longer feel that i can justify supporting a club which has so little regard for what the fans want. If all i represent is the cost of a match day ticket, the purchase of club merchandise, or pay per view then i'm best off away from it.

What about the prospect of Manuel Pellegrini as the boss and Kenny Dalglish as his right hand Man?

I don't know what to think anymore. I'm tired of trying to read between the lines to understand what the powers that be are 'really' saying.
I think I'll go into hibernation until the season starts.
The following is based on actual events. Only the names, locations and events have been changed.

That is one hell of a sad post that matey, and I don't mean that in a nasty way either. I can somehow agree, sense, and feel what you are saying though. However. you simply cannot stop supprting the team beacause of the reasons you state, I mean, how is that possible? Dalglish would be everybodys favourite yes, but as was stated on another thread yesterday, just HOW the hell would everyone cope IF he couldn't turn it on like he did last time around? The thought and possibly of witnessing the tarnishing of THE LEGENDS reputation would be too much to bare for most of us I feel. Lets give this new guy a chance (if appointment is true) and take stock in a 10 months time.

I would feel kinda sick to my stomach as well ..this would be just another stupid appointment. Apart from Dalglish, who we'd all love to see in the position granted, but for probable reasons previously stated it ain't going to happen, WHO would be your first and second choices? Let's face it Emp, you'd never be 'appy would you?

i want a british manager or at least a foreign manager that has premiership experience . you just know this fella is going to sign his own players ,he will have his own josemi's and mid trier spanish players that will come in and get chewed up and spit out by the prem. more waste of money and more lfc going in a stupid direction.. I would have hodgson myself ,dalglish ..but i would have owen coyle over this fella . he failed his brief at madrid and we take him on ..can he speak english? Dunno matey. Dunno a great deal about him either tbqh. It's not confirmed yet anyway, so calm bloody down. Anyone who takes the job on is going to have a tough time though, especially initially.
