I don't think anybody has mentioned the favourable circumstance for Arsenal, when this game was changed from Christmas Eve!

Liverpool just had their longest travel for an away game @Bournemouth = round trip 530+ miles this season. Also having to play the day after Arsenal had a home game v Newcastle.

Arsenal have 1 day more rest without any need to travel so they'll have 5 days between the Newcastle game and this, whilst we have 4, however with all the traveling you may as well chalk off a day for prep etc... so effectively Arsenal are having 2 days more prep and rest time over us!

Don’t forget Arsenal have a quarter final game to play tomorrow against West Ham, so will actually have less time between games

Mignolet

Gomez - Lovren - Klavan - Robertson

Oxlade-Chamberlain - Can - Henderson

Salah - Firmino - Coutinho

Wijnaldum is a passenger in away games and definitely shouldn't start. Mane is a great option from the bench in a game like this as well.

Agree except for I think Mane may start and Phil may be on the bench. (As mane have a rest last night and there are games on the boxing day)

We can play deep against they in this match and catch them on counter.

I hope not as he is on top form. Klopp did the same thing after he scored his hat trick and he was not the same when he played against WBA. I would agree if he is tired, but he started late in the season and needs game time. The one player who might need rest is Salah but if he says he is not tired, he should play. I would play Coutinho on the left, Mane on the right with Salah in a more forward position and play with 2 defensive midfielders, ie, more in a 442 formation. Coutinho is a waste in the middle of the midfield, but great from the left. If Salah needs rest, only then I would play Ox behind Mane on the right. Mane tracks back as much as Ox.

effin' 'ell!!!! Players in the 70s that smoked and drank didn't get 'tired' so how can today's athletes possibly be struggling after less than half a season??

Good job they didn't have to walk home then isn't it? They were probably cuddled up on a luxury coach/plane getting plenty of rest. The travel is hugely irrelevant red herring.

Big game. If we win, it goes a long way to solidifying top 4. Lose, and it will be a battle. A draw, and we are just holding on.

I think we've rotated enought to pretty much play a full strength team. Mane should be rested.

Yes.
But actually part of me would like to play the same line-up with our last game as vs Bournemouth is probably our best performance of the season (in my view).

Mane didn't play the last game and has also been out for weeks. The only player needing a rest based on number of games played is Salah, but I would play him unless he says he can't.
