I agree that he wants the transfer to Barcelona, what player wouldn't? However every time he's played for us this season I haven't doubted his commitment at all. I know he's had some injuries but most of our squad have been injured at some point!
We are a worse team without him, that's obvious, and we haven't got a good record of replacing our better players have we? So the fee is irrelevant unless it's spent on the right players!

I wouldn't rule PSG out either, they were interested, let's hope there's a bidding war !!!
Surprised RM have never really been interested in him, I guess he's allot like Modric who they have.

I'd rather have mercenaries that do something on the pitch than bang average players that do nothing.

He may be doing something now but what if we block it again and he downs tools? It’s a World Cup year now so if he wants to go he has to play and put in the effort. What about next season though?
Simple fact is he wants to go. If his heart isn’t here then we need to get the best deal for us. Make him leave on our terms.
I’m also not sure this will set a precedent with others either. It’s not Liverpool who’ve instigated this and we dug our heels in back in the summer too. The same happened with Suarez and Sterling. Moves both instigated by the players and we held off for the best possible deal for us.
I also think with Klopp that the most net will be invested much better. He’s shown to have an eye for a player and for what he wants. If we sell Phil and sort the defence and/or midfield with the money, I’ll not be too disappointed.

He is a great player but we have other options and other areas of the team are desperate for rebuilding so if he went January and that allowed us to strengthen in the very obvious areas fine by me

It all depends on our ambition, and on our maturity. If we want to build a winning squad we should keep him at least until we've added more quality to the squad and first eleven. However if we're immature enough to discard the little ambition we have, because one of our best and most creative players prefers Barcelona to Liverpool then we have no right to lambaste the owners for their lack of ambition. Are we deluded by false pride enough to think that any one player in our entire squad wouldn't also opt for Barcelona if good enough and given the chance? It's long past time we grew up and accepted that we're long past being the first choice destination in Europe for top class players. We should be demanding that FSG hold on to our best players and build on that, rather than assisting and encouraging them to sell.

If he goes Jan it will be around the £120m mark. Will it stop others leaving? No it won't but it will put down a marker that teams will have to pay enormous amounts of money for such players. They can only keep coming back so many times and it's not just us that has good players. Look at how much Alli or Kane could go for. Mane and Salah are not far behind but after Barcelona and RM money has been spent where else would a player want to go? PSG doesn't have the same pull. To progress I think now is the right time to sell Coutinho. Stupid money being offered. He is my favourite player but we can play without him. Recent team selections show Klopp is putting faith in different players and resting a couple here and there and it is paying off.

Has Phil ever been player of the season? What means more to the team, £128 Mill or Phil Cunthino ?
What would FSG do with the 128 mil is more to the point. Does the whole amount get reinvested in the playing squad wisely? Money received have always gone into buying other players, can't see anything different this time. However, we need to buy much better.

As an old man you should know that we sold Rush to Nice and Keegan to Hamburg, so it would be nothing new.

Keep him until after the world cup. Prices are always inflated after world cups. 145million in January will be at least 200million after the world cup in the summer, especially if Coutinho and Brazil do well. Lets remember he also has at least 4 years left on his contract.
