Great idea - but it would need all top level clubs and governing federations from all the european leagues to agree to it. And we know what would happen....the FA's would put in silly loop holes allowing 28yr old brazillian internationals as homegrown players as long as their grandmothers had straight hair and could play the trumpet.

It's 2017....using the word 'reserves' would probably hurt people's feelings so it would have to be called something else.

God knows our lads are so sensitive. We dont want to upset them, otherwise Daddy Jurgen will have to give them even more hugs to stop the tears flowing in the dressing room - oops sorry - I meant the changing room.
Call it the "B" league then.

Interesting he is commenting on Liverpool, Liverpool/Klopp are bringing through younger players like TAA/Gomez etc, but he doesn't comment on Angel Gomes who is reluctant to sign a new deal with Utd as he has hardly played, so might be off to Dortmund, he won the U20 World Cup as well.

There's so much pressure on managers now for results, it's hard for them to risk young players, a few losses and the fans are on their back and the chairman gets twitchy. I think the only way this will get resolved is if the PL bring in a rule, where say 3 U21 players have to be in the matchday squad, then the price for young players will go even higher, but they will probably just sit on the bench.

It's the old saying, if there good enough they will play, if we had a Gerrard/Fowler/Owen coming through now, they'd be getting games as they were that good at 17-18.
