We need to cut our goals against by around 50% and for that we need a rebuild at the back. One top class half back (VvD) won't fix that however good he is, so I want to see another pair of top quality full backs and another half back along with VvD. In addition we need to sign a top quality defensive mid to solidify that new look defence, then I think we can challenge, but it'd be a miracle with our current defensive setup. If we could sort the goal hemorage with a thoroughgoing rebuild, I think we could manage without signing an additional striker, or midfielder, especially as we have Kieta coming in the summer. Oh and of course I forgot, we need to sign a goalkeeper too as part of that defensive rebuild. That may change if we don't make CL again ! I think he would of put a caveat in to that effect I know I would of ! I mean what if we were relegated ? Or finish out of cl spots I'm sure he would reconsider the deal and I'm sure something to that effect will be in the deal, it makes sense when your doing deals 12mths in advance that there was some protection for yourself in those situations imo ? If not he and his agent are fools If there's a CL clause, I doubt he will be joining us !

As Klopp previously mentioned in the press conference that Naby knew it is more difficult to qualify in CL in England but he decided to us regardless of whether we can make it to CL next season or not.

Yes, we need cover at the back but they cant find the right person with the right price. That is why there are no CB coming. Same as I mentioned before, we were playing with Lovern/Klavan/Matip most of the time last season and we managed to get into top 2 when the team was healthy and fit last season.
For Roberson, we want him as we need cover for full back. Full back cant play every game twice a week. (For those complaining Robertson dont have game time, he started and played full 90 minutes twice last week.)
For Ox, I know a lot of people dont rate him. But his style fit our system and he is a home grown player who can make have more flexibilty to register in EPL. Besides, he is versatile and can play a number of positions.
Yes, we have Salah but Salah is not a cover of Mane. Klopp actually wants to play Salah together with Mane this year (with Phil operates in the number 8 position). In that case, Ox can be a cover for both left or right wing. With Lallana got injured and Keita will only join us next season, we also need someone who is energetic and can run a lot in the MC position too. Ox can also be a back up plan for RB/LB.
Also, when it is back in August, no one is sure about the status of Phil's back injuries. We need some to have a back up plan if Phil didnt turn up and perform after the transfer windows closed.
You are really trying there, so a few comment. If we/Klopp cannot find better than Klavan and Gomez, he is a bum. Price in addition shouldn't have been a problem because we apparently were ready to break the world record for a CB to get fat VVD. We have 4 players for 2 wingers positions, ie, Mane, Salah, Coutinho and Laĺlana who are all better than Ox, Coutinho is going to be played in the middle only if Klopp wants to accommodate him with Salah and Mane, he has rarely played there. Last but not least, are you serious about Phil's back injury, common you cannot be that naive, I am not? Buying Ox instead of a CB is a complete fk up.

A few comments for you: 1/ Cannot find the right person for the right price didnt mean that we cannot find someone better than Klavan and Gomes or didnt mean that we cannot afford to pay for other CB. It is all about do we think the other players are worth that price. For instant, Michael Keane doesnt worth the price tag for me. It is clear that Klopp rates VVD highly and willing to pay a premium for his services. However, for other CB that Klopp doesnt rate that high or simply Klopp doesnt rate, shall we pay a premium? That is the problem. Someone is willing to pay 1million for a benz may not be willing to pay 500K for a bike. That's how it is. For me, Howedes is an available target with good price but he seems not the players FSG or our transfer committee will fancy due to his age and his wages. Besides, he is not the type of players we want most in our defence (we need someone who is good in the air). And Klopp definitely rate Gomes highly. That's why he decided to let Gomes to step in when Lucas left. 2/ Lallana's best position in CM under Klopp. He seldoms plays as wing last season. Klopp is forced to put him in wing last season only because he got no other option. Therefore, another winger is needed. 4 wingers to play twice a week is not excessive, expecially Coutinho will also play in middle sometimes this season. Klopp just mentioned he got the fab 4 to be fit first time this season in the recent press conference. You can definitely tell he wants Phil play more in the MC this season. Last season Phil was in a wing position only because he didnt have other options. 3/ For Phil's "back injuries", what I mean is no one sure how Phil will react after we disagree his dream move. Yes, all our preceptions is Phil will be the same old him like last year, but anyone can guarantee in Aug? There is a shadow over Phil's future back in Aug. We are not sure whether Phil would refuse to play for us or even if he play, will his performance being affected by his morale. He is a top class player that's why we want to keep him at all cost but we need to have back up plans in case Phil didnt perform. We find Ox and think he is available with a good price. He may not be an instant impact as he may not be as good as Salah and Mane but Salah and Mane wont be playing all games this season. They will get injured/suspensed/unfit. We need some pacey wingers to rotate with them. Ox would be an important addition when the season goes on.

Also, from what I have seen, both Lallana and Coutinho are better than Ox who apparently wanted to play in the centre as well. We needed a quick good impact at the centre of our defence but got a bad impact in attacking midfield with Ox. How do you see Ox impact so far? You can try to justify as much as you want but the result is quite bad in reality, we continue to concede loads and Ox is even worse that what he was as Arsenal

Klopp rated him and praised him much and we know he is good before his injury. He just recovered from a long term injury last season and I think after a few more games he will become better. You dont rate him but Klopp definitely see something in him. For me, I would rather give some chances to Gomes and wait till Jan to see if those CB wanted by Klopp can finally come rather than the club tried to (i) buy some second class CB that is over-priced or (ii) simply buy some CB that Klopp does not rate. For Ox, it is just the start of the season and every one is fresh and may not need much rest. That's why you cant see his impact now. He is still adapting in our style of play and that's why Klopp didnt rush him to the first team. It doesnt mean he wont have an impact. Plus, if you have read all the interviews when he came, you know he is willing to play in any position here, not just prefer to play in the centre. Again, we need some pace in our team and we cant rely on Salah/Mane to play every game. Klopp had good records on buying and those players he rated high normally can perform. That's why I trust him and understand his reason for not buying. Back in Jan, we couldnt identify the targets to add sqaud depth and then we waited and finally got Salah in the summer. I beleive in the club and Klopp as they see the problems and I believe the problem could be fixed soon. It is just the start of the season and we have a bad spell but we still in a not bad position. I would rather wait and see the team perform rather than moaning every day like those Chelsea fans did last season in Oct.

I can only hope you are right but not fixing the defence for 2 seasons and 4 transfer windows doesn't look good. This will either make or break Klopp's career with us
