Its down to Klopp to sort out the the defense problem asap but that ship has sailed i think, why do we have to wait for Jan,then wait until summer, then wait until jan? or buy players to sit unused on the bench ? We have been doing this for years now and still there are positions that need sorting. Its unrealistic to expect wins by simply scoring bags full of goals and hoping we don't concede Im sick and tired of waiting my patience has been worn down and the worst thing is we wait so long for one measly player to plug a gap only for another to open up IE phil will want to go followed swiftly by the likes of Mane, and so it goes on and on and on..... I wouldn't like to see Klopp sacked but he will be if he doesn't hurry up and address the problems, his head will be on the block without doubt and he will deserve the criticism . Yeah, that about sums it up, we've had nigh on 30 years of patience, and one has to ask where does patience end and complacency begin? Should we wait 40 years or why not 50 years? If we have any ambition and I think it's questionable if this club or most of it's fan have anymore, then we have to stop making excuse after excuse for failure and demand the improvements that glaringly need to be addressed, and aren't being addressed. If I'm honest, I've felt since the first time Klopp was mentioned as a replacement for Rodgers, that fans we're overrating him, and on fairly scant evidence too. Comparing achievements in a two horse league in Germany, with the rigours and competition of the PL was childish, foolish and is now being slowly revealed as such. Klopp is showing increasing signs of struggling with the demands of the PL and also the CL. Now he may rise to the challenge, but I for one won't be surprised if he doesn't.

Except we haven't, have we? Whenever a manager got close and finished 2nd, he wasn't backed properly and was sacked within two years. Happened to Rafa, happened to Rodgers.

I always knew that you didn't rate Klopp except after we won against Arsenal

Bar Rodgers. who had Suarez. Klopp is very is slowly building us the best team we've had in years. We have a brilliant attack, midfield will have Kieta next season.
We had top 4 last season and there is no reason why we can get it this season. We now have a better squad, last season we were unlucky with so many injuries. If he gets us Top 4 this season. Then we have seriously progressed.
Klopp did the same at Dortmund if he wants a player bad enough he will wait. He probably could have bought better defenders in the summer, but thought he did not want to waste 20-40m on a player that he was iffy about. I don't care anymore, I can see progress he is bringing in good players. Klopp does not give a [oops] what people think as far as I can see. He will wait until he builds team he wants.
I know one thing for sure if he was to leaves next season and it does not work out. He will leave us with a decent squad.

We've let in 8 goals this season. That's more than Palace. He should've sorted the defence and there's no excuse not to have done. With that defence and with how others have strengthened, top 4 will be a massive ask for us this season and will be a wasted opportunity.

Klopp is the best manager we could get and if we got rid of him, who could we bring in? this is going to take time, Klopp is gradually improving the team, he's got rid of the deadwood Rogers/Hodgson collected, he is now improving the team, but it will take time.
I don't know what he's upto with CB, I can't explain it, but he must have a plan and know something we don't, otherwise he would have bought a decent one to come in over the summer.
He got us back in the CL on his first full season, that's pretty good going, it looks like FSG are backing, so we need to give him time to manage it as he wants.

Spending resources improving the attack instead of the defence in the summer seemed really questionable to me. Salah is a good player but he really isnt an upgrade to coutinho and needs too many chances to score imo. We could have spent our efforts getting a defender who could stop 10-15 goals more than lovren since he's making a mistake almost every other game.
And if we compare this team and even the suarez team in 2013/14 to the team that finished second in 2009, I'd say despite the Benitez team having less resources to spend and some mediocre players that team was still the most balanced and complete of the three. The attack may not have been quite as good as the current team but the defence was rock solid and in Europe I always felt like we would go far. The saying goes that all successful teams are built from the defence first.

I would agree that Rafas team was more balanced but footy has changed a lot since then (endless $$$$ ) . there were no spuds or shitty threatening. its been a lot more competitive n ruthless over the years. Rafa or his squad of that time would not do any better than our current lot I reckon
