And that's exactly what Ayre said about Suarez.... and guess what  So what should the club have done then, say nothing? They can say what they like Vish, I trust no one at this club anymore so seeing is believing. I hope they are telling the truth but wont be surprised if Phil does leave.

Well taken on face value it's great news...but...we've been here before, so we shall see. Perhaps they've learned from the Suarez debacle, or perhaps it was Klopp's influence, or perhaps it was fan pressure, or perhaps it's just street traders jawing, so we shall see...perhaps... As far as I can remember, the owners did not comment on the season Suarez left. It was the season before when Arsenal were interested where they said he wouldn't be sold.

Well taken on face value it's great news...but...we've been here before, so we shall see. Perhaps they've learned from the Suarez debacle, or perhaps it was Klopp's influence, or perhaps it was fan pressure, or perhaps it's just street traders jawing, so we shall see...perhaps... It could be about timing too. If they'd have offered that in June/July he may have been gone already. But we've no real time left to get anyone else in that could potentially plug the gap he'd leave. Maybe if we'd got Keita or could get him he may still go?

What Suarez debacle? As much as I remember they didn't let him go and Suarez even reported the case to the FA. You cannot keep an unwilling player for very long and they ended up selling to Barca after a year. It is going to be similar with Coutinho I am sure. You seem lost in your thoughts again

Yeah you could be right there wilkij, but whatever it is, as long as he stays I'm happy about it. We still need at the very least to wrap up the VvD signing, he's put it on a plate for us, we have the money, and we need a top class half back so we need to get it done. no doubt the saints will sting us but if he steady's the ship at the back it will be well worth the pain.

Yeah it's good they are looking to keep him. VVD is more down to Southampton now but if not him we need a top class CB.

If Barca hit the magic number it will/may come down to phil pushing it through,i know its been said he wouldnt but theres still time.
