Why do you continue to judge VvD on such dross?
Omg I'm actually done with this, if you honestly stand by that judgment so be it , but just to let you know I seriously am perplexed with your process of judging players, actually based on how you judge players, "if" Barcelona or Madrid were after him it don't make things easier ! He'd be worth £100 million because of bidding war, so I actually rather Barcelona don't come sniffing about, I'd rather we get him for £75 million and put up with peoples perplexing opinions based on the price tag.
What was your opinion on mané signing initially ? Overpriced? Well, this is my whole point, Barca and Real are not after him because he is not good enough for that kind of money. Regarding Mane, I didn't think he was overpriced at 34m, this is why IMO we shouldn't go more than 50m for VVD though I think it would be overprice but acceptable in today's market. The right price would be 35-40m. Maybe just maybe they don't need him where as we are screaming out for a class cb ! Pepe has just left Real Madrid and if you watched Barca games you would have seen they have only Pique as their top CB and they struggled as he was out a number of times.

So who have Barca been chasing then ? I read rumours about the Ajax's Davison Sanchez for 20m

He's 21 only had one season at Ajax Came from Honduras team his only other team it looks like ?
So not exactly got a good cv but young 6-2 so there looking at a back up I would say ? It's true though barca can afford the risk on potential in their defence , don't have much to do, and they are guaranteed champions league football . LFC on the other hand is constantly exposed to the counter attack in EPL and we aren't guaranteed top4 it's different circumstances that make a quality CB more of a priority for LFC why risk it for the sake of 20m , we constantly gamble with 10m-20m players may as well risk paying 20m excess for quality we can trust for the next 3-5 years

If Southampton doesn't let us have VVD for 50m, I'll go for De Vrij If we play like barca ( which we kinda already do as teams sit deep against us) our defence is going to be seriously exposed , kieta will be essential to protect the two CB running backwards , but I'd be concerned with de vrij , I know ball playing is essential , but if we don't get VvD I'd rather a cheap "fast" CB than a ball player like de vrij , more like a bailly, umtiti we lack athleticism , de vrij isn't athletic he's decent but not athletic .

On counters we need quick full backs and decent speed CBs, the athletism doesn't mean quick, for example Sakho. We need athletism though to defend set pieces.

True athleticism doesn't mean quick , I meant fast , fast and not short,
"On counters" Full backs will be pushed up high , the ball winning/protection from the counter attack comes from a midfielder with speed and good ball winning ability , most LFC CB revert to last ditch slide tackles, if they miss we are in trouble , players like (sakho , Skrtel love a last ditch tackle)
But they have to because they cannot rely on midfield to win ball as the CB jockeys , so they have to make a challenge .
LFC have been requiring a ball winner since we lost mascherano,
Tactically holding midfielders more important than fullbacks to win ball

But fast and fit Full back are still very important because they will eventually get back and also to give an outlet when attacking ,
Robertson seems like a Moreno but with the discipline of Milner
