Makes me so sad to see all this talk of top four being the be all and end all instead of success, Whatever happend to the values this once great Club was built on. All I can say is people must have bought quite a few shares in the Club or must of had a bet on finishing top four to want it so badly because the only other person who stands to gain from it is Big John from Boston and FSG for money purposes. Yep. We could finish fourth. Doesn't fill me with pride I am afraid. But that is the plan by the owners I reckon. No need to spend serious money and build the squad and seriously challenge for the EPL title. It is their plan to scrape into the Champions League and get some extra revenue next season from those games.

Difference between us and Chelsea is nothing to do with the squad, they rotate the squad far less than us. It's just one or two players in key positions. If we had Costa and Cortois and they had Mignolet and Firminio I'm sure the positions would be reversed. These are the positions we need to fill whatever the cost. A decent striker and a Goalie. Really? When Costa is out Pedro comes in and the reuslt is the same, same with Hazard and Willian. In fact, Conte rotates these 3 out of 4 players regularly. In the central midfield he had 3 good players in Kante, Matic and Fabregas for 2 positions. At the back he has Zuma and Terry if he needs them. Makes abig difference, this is why they are 10 points ahead of us and going to win the EPL while we struggle to 4th.

Pretty awesome to be able to bring on Fabregas and Pedro as subs. Says it all really I think.

Exactly. And they might even try and tell Klopp to play a weakened team against Real Madrid or so - like BR did. Then we might even make it to CL for a second year on a row.

I think the same goes for the Premier League title, I really don't think they want to win it, they know to win that you need to have to invest about 200 million plus on players to be able to win it given Chelsea, City and United all play in the same league and given you only get about 95 million for winning it that's definitely not a good investment for such an outlay and gamble. Bit like putting 50 quid on a horse with three other favourites in it and if you win you get a fiver back.

Only 95 Million for winning the Premier League? What a joke. The TV rights deal is to blame, because the scale of payments should be loaded higher to the top prize. By spreading the money so generously to all clubs in the Premier League the competition is more of a reality TV show where the players put on a performance each episode and get sheet loads of cash win lose or draw. All we need to complete the package is canned applause at the matches and camera scenes of players in taxis, tweeting, flirting and at the salon with their entourages of course.

I think the difference between first place and second place is between three and four million, then it filters down to about 3 million pound more each place. I think the play off final is a richer and bigger game than the European Cup final because of the money you make for getting in the Premier League, madness, that's why it's better to sacrifice winning the F.A Cup to finish about five places in the league higher if ure about 14th because you make more money than a cup win. I just can't accept not winning a trophy is better than winning it because of money.

If only the PL winners qualified for the CL, like the old European Cup with knockout rounds all the way through, winning the PL would be far more important, that's why Top 4 is the main priority for the Top clubs, winning the PL is not as important now for the people running/owning clubs. It devalues the league, like the FA Cup has been devalued because compared to the rewards for CL qualification/PL survival, the FA Cup has no real monetary value.

in todays football a top four position is success as it gets you into the premium competion the CL WHERE all want to get to ! We all want to get to? You sure about that sixties...from where I stand it's only FSG who benefit, Klopp and the players because they get a big fat bonus for qualifying. The rest of us don't have any financial gain, we just look forward to getting bounced out group stages and embarrassed by another Ludogerets or some other no mark team we have never heard of and worse of the lot all at the expense of sacrificing domestic Cup success because of an incompetent manager who does what the owners want instead of us fans.
