Having Mane in the team allows us to play with a different dimension, his pace means the opposition cannot play a high line against us which in turn frees up space for Coutinho, Firmino and Lallana which allows them to be more effective. Mane is also a genuine wide player, we don't have another one anywhere near his level in the squad.

I fear our problem is more than Mane being out, we did struggle against Sunderland with Mane, I feel we have ran off steam. That said, players have rested during our abysmal Jan, so maybe they are a bit fresher

So if we had a replacement for Mane as you suggested, it wouldn't have mattered would it?

I keep hearing we had Mane against Sunderland, what about all the other games where we battered teams when he played? Or do we only focus on the poor results and all of our victories are therefore rendered irrelevant?

It would appear that way for most on here.

It's January and we are out of both cups and might be in free fall in the league and you expect people not to comment ? What planet do you live on ?

Of course, we probably would have lost so many games left right and center while he was away

Maybe you are having problems to follow, I said we ran out of steam and this is not supposed to happen at the beginning of the season

The point is that no one bothers to post when we're winning.

So is it about missing Mane or we've run out of steam? If we've run out of steam, a replacement for one player wouldn't have made a difference would it? Or even two more players as that still leaves 9 that are shagged?

Yes, as do I. But you have to admit, it's like a morgue in here when we win compared to when we lose.

From a forum point of view it's definitely a better and more livelier place when things are not going well with the club, you only have to look at the last week to see that. I have the feeling the Hull game next week will be just as tough as the Chelsea game.
