Can somebody explain to me why we play second string players in Cup games, not so much last night but in general when we don't have European football to worry about. I can maybe see some sort of a case if we have had to contend with European games and domestic Cup games at the same time but that has not applied this season. I think we know Klopp from team selections since he has been at the Club that he doesn't do two games in a week so what would happen if the club did manage to secure champions league football next season and he is faced with playing games Wednesday and Weekends, will he play a weak team in the champions league and save his first teamers for the League game on the Saturday. If we play our first teamers against the likes of Plymouth, when will our younger potentials have the opportunity to show their quality or not? Unless you want us to only buy proven players, we have to give them a chance against weaker opposition. why not play the younger players in the league games the weekend before Cup games, Cup games are one off and you only get one bite of the cherry so if you get it wrong your out with no comebacks. The way I see it is if you don't take Cups seriously or try to win them what's the whole point of actually supporting any football club, surely if you remove the dream of actually winning a trophy or gaining success you end up like Arsenal whose basically exist only to qualify in the top four make the business a profit and then start all over again next season, the business and not the fans are the only ones who benefit from that deal or arrangement. Arsenal have won the FA Cup twice in the last 3 years ! Wenger's target may well be too qualify for next years CL, but they do win Cups as well.

Arsenal have won the FA Cup twice in the last 3 years ! Wenger's target may well be too qualify for next years CL, but they do win Cups as well. I think if you look a little bit deeper at Arsenal's two Cup wins which you so rightly have pointed out you will see Arsene Wenger still treated those domestic cups with the distain he has always treated them with the only difference with the two wins was they got to around about the sixth round or semi final stage of the Cup and there top four position was already assured for the following year and they had already been bounced out of that years champions league so he could treat the Cup games serious with more respect. If you look at this season, Arsenal had Southampton at home in the League Cup yet fielded a complete fringe squad team and were knocked out 2-0 if they had fielded a full team and took it serious Southampton would not be winning at the Emirates this was one game before the Semi Final. If you look at Klopp and his selections he has done the same with weak teams in domestic cups right up until last nites semi where he decided to take it serious and played a full team besides the goalie, we are getting to semi finals because of luck and poorer teams we have faced rather than anything else, the Spurs cup game was a bit of a farce as Klopp and Spurs manager just seen who could put out most reserve and fringe players. The point I am making is I don't agree with us following the Arsenal blueprint of just making a profit for the business instead of perusing Cup glory and days out at Wembley which we can sing songs and tell stories about in the future.

I never said I didn't want us to win Trophies, winning Trophies is what this club is/should be about, doing well commercially helps you win trophies as you can fund it, but I don't want us to make huge profits and not win things, I would take Arsenals achievements over the last 3 years compared to ours, whether took the competitions seriously or not, they won them
Arsenal fans knock Wenger (rightly so sometimes), but I think they are in for a shock when he leaves, like Utd fans were when Fergy left.

Who is to blame that we went into a new season without a deep enough squad of quality players then ? The players ? I think a lot of people won't like me saying it on here but the reason the squad is so thin leaves the blame firmly at the feet of Jurgen the German in my book, how long has he been in charge and how many transfer windows has he had to strenghthen.

So he gets all his targets from FSG then??? You know this for sure? He wanted Goetze... what happened to that? Theres never been a real answer to all these sort of questions. They always get swept under the carpet. Its a safe guess to say Klopp wanted Gotze, if we spent 25 million on Wijnaldum, why couldnt we of bought Gotze who was the same price? I hope we know all the answers to these transfer questions in the future because its getting to be a joke. Even last season, did Klopp really want Steven Caulker?

It's fair enough to criticise the owners for a lack of squad depth, it's maybe fair to also level some of that criticism at the manager although he's only had one Summer transfer window and you cannot completely overhaul a squad over one Summer. However you cannot blame the owners for players under-performing and losing games that they should be winning. Our players are highly paid and once they cross the white line it is 11 vs 11 based solely on football ability.

You will never know that sort of information, its business commercial sensitive information, so will not be made public. These days deals are agreed with players/agents before the owning club is even approached, the only time you know we want a player is when it's made public we have bid (usually to destabilise the player as his club won't sell) or we announce the signing, some of the Summer signings like Wijnaldum were pretty much announced out the blue.
