He is a noticeable step up on Mignolet. Not only is he a shot stopper but has aerial presence, both of which our current 2 GK's have little or none of. We are 10 points off chelsea and if you think they are gonna pi** away that with the quality of squad and team they have and actually believe we have the ability to catch them given our squad depth then thats insanity. I never said we could catch Chelsea, you said we are no threat to them which is inaccurate. How are we a threat to them? They have quality in depth, we dont. Ok so we might beat them at Anfield they will still pull away because of how good they have been. We beat them at Stamford Bridge, they won't be looking forward to coming to Anfield believe me. They have a decent squad but if you took out Cahill/Luiz, Hazard and Costa through injury, they'd struggle just like we have without key players.

They have Zouma coming back from injury, fabregas on the bench to replace hazard if he got injured and pedro has been scoring well and they have that kid Batshauyi. Thats a quality team. Our back up is klavan, Lucas then playing a midfielder as a forward. Thats the difference.

Fabregas cannot play left wing so could never be a replacement for Hazard. Batshauyi was left out by Conte when Costa was unavailable so he's no different to Origi or Sturridge for ourselves. Also Conte played Pedro as a striker when Costa was out, so exactly the same as us.

When have I ever said we can catch Chelsea? Hazard plays off the left wing, not as a number 10 so no Fabregas couldn't replace him. Well your saying Batshauyi is an option for Chelsea, he's completely unproven in this league and has hardly played, so he can't be a better option than Origi or Sturridge. If Batshauyi played for us and Origi for Chelsea you'd be saying the same thing but the other way round. It's like the novelty of a player from another club excites, no matter how good he is. I'm not making Liverpool out to be better than they are, I'm stating that we aren't as bad as you make out, there is a big difference! We're a work in progress, Chelsea won the title in 14/15 with pretty much the same squad they have now, they just imploded for some reason last season. They also haven't suffered key injuries this season like we have. Also I haven't disagreed that they have a stronger squad, I'm merely relating our squad to your points. Unfortunately you only seem to be interested in slagging off LFC which is your right, but I look at positives as well as negatives.

Im not trying to catch you out chris because I fully understand with what your saying. Im just saying we cannot compete with chelsea until the establishment changes or the current ones change their ideas.

Up until January the positives firmly outweighed the negatives but nobody was interested then. It's almost like people want us to struggle so they can moan and kick off, I just don't understand it at all.

No it's not we want the positives to continue we liked what we were seeing
And every time we look capable of a challenge we lose someone or more and the same things are said we not just buying for the sake of it ? No one wants that we want a fully stocked squad is that so bad to want ? Really ? Agreed, I'm merely stating that up until this month we were looking extremely good. If we'd have hung on for victories against Sunderland and Man Utd and got the expected result against Swansea would there be this much negativity? I seriously doubt it!

I dunno we have looked terrible very fustrating to see a good start get wasted again A goal each from Sunderland and Man Utd in the last 5 minutes of games have cost us 4 points. It's not all negative. I get the frustration and yes the squad needs strengthening, of course it does, but I don't believe its half as bad as people are making out.

It's not all negative. I get the frustration and yes the squad needs strengthening, of course it does, but I don't believe its half as bad as people are making out. I think it all depends on expectations, the team is not bad for a 5-7th finish but not that good for a 4th finish and bad for winning the league
