Performance was rubbish and we are really struggling, what else do you want me to say? Shall I start crying, moaning and bitching like everyone else?

The whole team/management failed to deliver, over 2 legs we were poor and deserved to go out, we have been very poor in all the games recently, but for the first 4 months of the season we were really good.
This is when top managers/businesses earn their money, as they deal with the issues and learn/improve, so let's se what happens.

As I have always said umpteen times players can play above them selves but only for so long so this is the so long ! Players can play above themselves for a few games, over months it means they are at that level, form can be up and down abit. We seem to have too many players going off the boil at the same time, earlier in the season we always had 2 or 3 top players playing well, who would win the game for us, in the last few games I can't think of 1 player who I can say played well/looked good.

And form has been down early dec it's late Jan now ? and we have played mixed startups with lots of changes since December due to cup games and player injuries/absence, between August to End of 2016 we played a fairly consistent startup, only changing for injuries/suspension, so a few changes max, bringing experienced players in like Can/Origi/Sturridge etc.

Can somebody explain to me why we play second string players in Cup games, not so much last night but in general when we don't have European football to worry about. I can maybe see some sort of a case if we have had to contend with European games and domestic Cup games at the same time but that has not applied this season. I think we know Klopp from team selections since he has been at the Club that he doesn't do two games in a week so what would happen if the club did manage to secure champions league football next season and he is faced with playing games Wednesday and Weekends, will he play a weak team in the champions league and save his first teamers for the League game on the Saturday.

I don't think he played weakened teams when he took Dortmund to the CL Final and I am fairly certain they have weekend games in Germany also.

Maybe he struggles to cope because of the intensity of the games here in England, when a European team at the top of the league goes to a team at the bottom the result is a forgone conclusion, most bottom teams beaten before the ref blows his whistle while here every victory has to be earned and worked for. I think it's backfiring a bit for Klopp in that he complains about too many games and having to play games over the Xmas period but at the same time he's the main instigator of his own downfall with team selections creating extra games that could of been avoided like the weak team he put out against Plymouth, why not field his full hit, go 3-0 up in the first half then take players off and save the need for a replay.

If we play our first teamers against the likes of Plymouth, when will our younger potentials have the opportunity to show their quality or not? Unless you want us to only buy proven players, we have to give them a chance against weaker opposition.

No just admit the suits have failed us again I've never defended the 'suits' as you call them. And the only people to blame for the Southampton defeat are the players and management, we got completely outplayed by them in both games and have now failed to score past them in 3 games this season.

The way I see it is if you don't take Cups seriously or try to win them what's the whole point of actually supporting any football club, surely if you remove the dream of actually winning a trophy or gaining success you end up like Arsenal whose basically exist only to qualify in the top four make the business a profit and then start all over again next season, the business and not the fans are the only ones who benefit from that deal or arrangement.
