Can people stop claiming that we cannot compete.
Look at the Forbes list of most profitable football clubs.
We are 8th in that list, its a huge lie to say we cannot compete with other clubs.

The Liverpool manager said: “I understand it is absolutely normal that people ask whether we should have brought players in. The situation is yes, on the one side pretty simple, but on the other hand it is pretty difficult. It is not that we don’t want to bring players in. We do. But the thing is, the players we want because we think they help us, the clubs don’t sell. It is not about money in this situation, it is the winter transfer window.
“Clubs are saying ‘No, we have half a year to go, we cannot find another player like this, we prefer to take money in the summer than a few pounds more in the winter than whatever’. So it is pretty easy. You see the situation. It’s tight, it’s close, we know that, but if the right decision is not possible in signing the right player then you cannot make the wrong transfer.
“It is not as if there are 20 players out there who could make this team stronger, who are running around and are available. That is the situation. That is why I say we know the situation, we are prepared to move, but for the right player. We are not the only side who can decide the outcome of that, though, are we? The selling club makes the decision too.”

My interpretation of Klopp's comments are that a) our scouts are poop if they cant find players better than the likes of Origi and Lucas FFS and b) there is a major problem in recruitment planning because we fert-ass about for months over the simplest signings and very good affordable players end up at other clubs c) it is a major business by bungle banking on the current squad players to ever ever ever be good enough to play in the EPL, so they cant possibly step up in the current season as speculated.
I wish Klopp had a better line up because he could really shake up the EPL.

Yeah, it's the first hint of dissatisfaction coming from Klopp. The owners might want to pull their finger out and back him. No it's not he talks about the difficulties of this [oops] window, if a club is unwilling to sell what are we expected to do pay £10 million over the odds? No thanks, too many post mortems and theories after a defeat , we are a work in progress just need to relax a bit.

Milner offers nothing going forward in that spot. If caulker was signed why cant anyone else sign for us? Please tell me another excuse. Manniger wasnt needed, and whos he gonna replace? Our current GK coach whos doing a fantastic job isnt gonna be replaced because he wouldve been well gone by now after the mistakes both our keepers made.
We still dont know if gomez will get back to been good. And even at that he only played about 7 games for us where he was good before he got injured.
What Im saying is Caulker and Manniger were not needed, yet they were signed. We need a LB and CB and he wont sign them. Its inexcusable and cannot be defended. It doesnt matter what why you or anyone else puts it, its a really bad management mistake.
3 assists for Milner this season from LB, so he does offer something going forward. If the right players aren't available this window we cannot sign them!!! If you want more players at the level of Steven Caulker then fine, I'm sure there are plenty of options. Klopp is looking at the bigger picture and not signing players for the sake of it. You have absolutely zero basis to state 'he won't sign a CB or LB'. He signed two central defenders in the Summer for gods sake!

Yeah but I'm saying you could not plan on that given Danny's history right ! So there plan was origi is that what your saying ? No. I'm saying we have Sturridge and Origi as cover for Mane along with perhaps Ojo (who I'd forgotten about) as mentioned by someone else. Sturridge's injury record wouldn't have come into it.

Klopp also signed steven caulker. Some people forget that. If he thought caulker would do as cover that was worrying before. If he saw value in a loan move for caulker even as cover then i would be worried about who we sign in the future. Manniger another one which was completely pointless. Failed Arsenal GK.
I dont care what anyone says it would be a truly shocking decision not to sign a LB now. He left us short in the summer he hasnt got a choice he needs to fix it now or else we'll be out of the top 4 and he will have massive pressure on him going into the next season. Yet the LB position hasn't been the issue so how will it drop us from the top 4? I'd prefer another CB or a proper midfielder myself this window and manage, as we have done very well, with Milner at LB. The whole defensive line is a disaster let alone the RB position. If we are talking about now rather than 3/4 season down the line. We still have the same GK who is mistake ridden. The GK he bought hasnt done good at all. Klavan hasnt been good enough and Lovren although hes improved in some ways is still nowhere near good enough for the top level. In some ways I know it sounds stupid buy maybe if Milner got injured or started making mistakes it would force Klopp into buying a LB. But then again Lovren can make mistake after mistake and still get a game every week. You are spot on there.

Matip has been excellent when he has played but has picked up injuries unfortunately and klavan has been a disaster and offered no improvement on the squad. Theres 7/8 days left until the window closes and it looks as if we havent even been remotely linked with anyone with any real solid truth to the rumors. Its hard to see why he would start trying to buy now so late in the transfer market. Other teams are finalizing deals whereas we are possibly only starting them.

Origi is nowhere near Mane, so can't see Klopp considering him as a replacement unless we have over estimated his management qualities. Sturridge can add to the team by playing CF in a 4 players attack as it has been in Klopp's system, however, Klopp rarely starts him and starting Can on Saturday shows how much he values Sturridge. Ojo is not ready as we saw. In short, it is a major cock up by Klopp unless he was really unable to find anybody of quality. That said, starting Can ahead of Sturridge on Saturday was a huge mistake and we paid for it.
