I think (and hope) spurs won't be playing a strong side either, the win over derby was nice but it should of been about win percent. people seem to care about the league cup as much as the fa cup it's shocking, not having a go at you chris talking generally. second string side should involve players like lucas, gruijic, ejaria, ojo, woodburn, origi, moreno, gomez, ragnar.
the further you go in these competitions we'll obviously end up playing first team players, we want to be giving maximum every league match and improving each week if we can, we're not going to do that if we have to deal with a championship side in a league cup quarter final, it may not be that bad and improve players form some weeks if we have a week in between fixtures however the matches eventually come thick and fast. but there's no way we can deal with 3 competitions all at once.
everyone knows about these reoccurring seasonal moans about priorities
With no European football I'd like to see us win one of the cup competitions. Personally I think we should be playing a strong side to ensure we get through to the next round.
Also we played a pretty much full strength side away Burton, then a relatively strong side at Derby. So to continue that trend surely it will be a strong side tomorrow?
