i hope he keeps his head down and is forgiven for his mistakes. unlike most in here i like him as a player and think he could make a mean partnership with matip
I don't think he can compete against Lovren. Sakho doesn't seem dominant enough,
he seems to rely on last ditch stuff and it doesn't always come off and then there's the mistakes as well that occur more than expected.
that's exactly what I thought when I read someone said he was good at interceptions, he is but it's partly because of that. heart in the mouth defender. he will have his chance to restore himself this season, I can't see him not doing.
I hope he is given a fair chance on form and working himself back into the team, as long as he trains and is reliable, the same as we expect from all players, I have no problem with him being selected.
I would say Lovren and Matip are the first choice CB, I've not seen enough of Klavan to fully judge him yet, but I would not say he's much better/worse than Sakho, but based that we paid a quarter of Sakho's fee for him, that's ok and he was bought as cover to replace Skrtel, I'd say they are both good cover.
Hopefully Gomez wlll be back soon, but he will take time after so long out. I would have Lucas after them as CB cover, as he tends to give away too many free kicks around the area and does not compete in the air as well (fair enough as he's not a CB really), so he should be emergency cover only if the 4 CB's are not available.
