Liverpool have made more money from player sales since 2010 than ANY other European club according to new figures.
The numbers released by the CIES Football Observatory - an academic research group based in Switzerland - have the Reds topping the table of money received from selling players to clubs in the five biggest European leagues during this decade.
1) Liverpool - €442million
2) Valencia - €432million
3) Juventus - €415million
4) Benfica - €414million
5) Porto - €382million
6) Atletico Madrid - €377million
7) Tottenham - €369million
8) Roma - €367million
9) Real Madrid - €361million
10) Chelsea - €358million
It's good we are at last selling players for profits, for so long we were buying players for big money and selling them for peanuts. You have also got to consider this is based on selling price, we also paid allot for players like Carrol/Suarez/Alonso/Mascherano/Torres/Aquilani, so this is not considered in the list, we also bought a load of players we lost hugely on like Aquilani/Carrol/Keane/Babel etc.
FSG are just following the business model LFC follow in the 70's/80's when we bought players like Keegan/Souness/Rush/Clemence, Liverpool got the best out of them, then we sold them on for large profits and replaced them with younger players coming through, like Whelan/Aldridge/Houghton etc.
That model turned out pretty well.....
