Having him, Mane, Firmino, Lallana and Coutinho running at teams is an awesome thought...having Mane, Firmino, Lallana, Coutinho and a lazy 2 legged donkey, doesn't have the same appeal...
Ok! a bit harsh on Sturridge but he can't be trusted. He's been at the club for 3 1/2 years now and he still divides opinion. He is not consistent, he has the ability but chooses more often not to use it. There is also his temperament and injury record. If someone makes a 30+m bid for him we should bite their hands off!

That'd fluff the books for our new Chinese owners nicely eh?

There's no substitute for technical competence in football, a proven top class player is always a better option on the field than promising potential, and a potential that is far from proven in the case of young Origi. You can hardly be seriously suggesting that we start him in our important games instead of a fit Sturridge?

Sturridge did well yesterday maybe he decided to buckle down and become a team player when needed?
The first thing I noticed about him was how much thinner he looked so maybe he is generally fitter.
klopp made me laugh though when he said that Lovren had a slightly swollen eye, my goodness did everyone see how huge that black eye was? LOL

Matip was unable to bring the ball out of defence as often as he normally would. And the error from Lucas proved he has no place there.
Teams are going to concentrate on our weaknesses and punish us everytime we put players who are not familiar with the role they've been given.
We can't expect to score 4 goals or more to win a game because of our defensive frailties. Klopp HAS to sort whatever sh*t has gone on between him and Sakho, for the greater good of the TEAM. Sakho is our best available option if Lovren or Matip get injured. He is a natural CB, who is able to read the game much better than Lucas for the position. And we must also get Ilori ready for the potential of 2 of our CB's being missing through injury / bans. We must never put ourselves in a position to have to rely on putting Lucas at CB again. This only magnifies just what an awful decision it was to go into this season without adequate resources. I can't remember a season where I've thought YES we are covered if we lose players to injury or bans! The Sakho situation was known a full month before the transfer window closed. There was also nobody interested in taking Ilori, so it was patently obvious the CB situation was extremely precarious! As much as I like Klopp I do believe he has a lot to learn in the English game. He was able to put plasters on scrapes in Germany...in England scrapes are gaping wounds and need to be dressed properly. I hope for his sake and LFC that he quickly learns this.

I agree, if we have a specialist CB ready to play in Klavan, why not play him? I can understand why Sakho isn't playing, he has obviously burnt his bridges with Klopp, which is a shame as he looked a good player in the second half of the season, but his lack of professionalism needs to be punished.

Lucas did well last year when he played CB as cover, but it's not his position, so sooner or later it's gonna cause a problem. We should be building consistency, playing players out of position will not help that.

We were lucky against Leicester that they never punished our defensive errors, or this could have been a very different result.

Cracking result yesterday. We were so good going forward, its refreshing to see our midfielders breaking their necks to get in behind the opposition defence.

Thought Firmino was superb, as was Mane, I think those two are absolutely critical to the way we play.

Hell of a strike from Lallana as well, I didn't think he had that type of strike in his locker. Two goals already in 4 league games, if he keeps contributing goals and assists I won't be getting on his case anytime soon. There are still parts of his game that frustrate me but credit where its due, he's started this season very well, lets hope it continues.

Our usual vulnerability in defence still worries me, that mistake for the Leicester goal has been coming for a while!

Massive game on Friday night at Chelsea, really looking forward to that one as I'll be there! I worry about our physicality in midfield because we'll need to compete with Kante and Matic who are very strong and powerful players. Still, I fancy us to cause them plenty of problems.

Yes, Lovren for Lucas and I'd play Can instead of Wijnaldum if he's fit.
