Yeah Leicester we're very poor but, that had a lot to do with our performance, we did very well up front and also at midfield where both Sturridge and Mane we're dominant most of our players performed well with the expected mistake coming from the makeshift defence. Regardless of the flat response from Leicester that was a very good bounce back from the Burnley fiasco, so well done Klopp and well done the lads.
Oh and dear Mr. Klopp, please play Sturridge in his best position; centre forward as long as you have him fit, you must be convinced by now that he's far and away the best player we have in the squad.

It was all about movement and this front line and support can do some great things.

That is was the Leicester side that won the league easily last season minus Kante. But his £20m replacement was there.

On the other hand we had Can, Origi, Coutinho on the bench played without a recognised left back and had a new untried CB partnership.

Leicester may have been poor but when a side plays as well as we did yesterday it makes the other team look poor. We could have had 8 yesterday if it wasn't for their keeper.

that's your opinion I don't agree with it, very clinical performance.

Our best player in the squad is Mane but yes Sturridge is much better than Origi despite the fact that he missed a couple of sitters. Firmino is currently our coolest finisher except that he does go missing every now and then.

Lucas should never have been under pressure then, he should know how to control such a simple pass. Migs is crap but the goal we conceded was all because of Lucas

made a good/crucial save though

He just did his job, the mistake however is unacceptable.

First time yesterday, in awhile that I've seen Sturridge running and trying, but you would have to think that is him trying to make a point to Klopp. He rarely does this...Owen made a point about it after the match that he suffered the same sort of indecision because he was scared of getting injured and he purposely put himself in positions where he was unavailable to make those intelligent runs, in behind opposing defenders. I would rather have a striker not scared who is trying all the time, injuries are hazards of the game and if your Striker is unwilling to make those kind of sacrifices then he is useless to the cause!
Sturridge has proven time and again he can't be trusted, I would play him against Chelsea on the basis of yesterdays performance. However if he goes back in his shell and doesn't try, then he needs to be replaced... we need 100% effort not 50 or 60% if we are to compete.

Or... it could be that Sturridge is now feeling fully fit and he's finally finding his place in a Klopp system. He seemed happy enough yesterday and even though he didn't score he was crucial to the result. If he plays like that and creates as well as banging in a few then he fully deserves a starting place.

Klopp has to use a player who is familiar with the role and not throw players into positions where they are plainly not comfortable, especially at CB. If we continue to put Lucas at CB it is going to have an effect on others around him. Mignolet got poleaxed twice because of indecision, yesterday. Matip was unable to bring the ball out of defence as often as he normally would. And the error from Lucas proved he has no place there.
Teams are going to concentrate on our weaknesses and punish us everytime we put players who are not familiar with the role they've been given.
We can't expect to score 4 goals or more to win a game because of our defensive frailties. Klopp HAS to sort whatever sh*t has gone on between him and Sakho, for the greater good of the TEAM. Sakho is our best available option if Lovren or Matip get injured. He is a natural CB, who is able to read the game much better than Lucas for the position. And we must also get Ilori ready for the potential of 2 of our CB's being missing through injury / bans. We must never put ourselves in a position to have to rely on putting Lucas at CB again. This only magnifies just what an awful decision it was to go into this season without adequate resources. I can't remember a season where I've thought YES we are covered if we lose players to injury or bans! The Sakho situation was known a full month before the transfer window closed. There was also nobody interested in taking Ilori, so it was patently obvious the CB situation was extremely precarious! As much as I like Klopp I do believe he has a lot to learn in the English game. He was able to put plasters on scrapes in Germany...in England scrapes are gaping wounds and need to be dressed properly. I hope for his sake and LFC that he quickly learns this.

That's missing the point that 60% effort from a top class player will always be more effective than 100% effort from a mid table player....headless chickens never see where they're going! Sturridge was very effective yesterday, despite not getting on the score board himself, but some of the others wouldn't have either without his excellent contribution.

Origi was coming on leaps and bounds towards the end of last season. I think he has bags of potential and his finishing will get much better with more playing time.
Having him, Mane, Firmino, Lallana and Coutinho running at teams is an awesome thought...having Mane, Firmino, Lallana, Coutinho and a lazy 2 legged donkey, doesn't have the same appeal...
Ok! a bit harsh on Sturridge but he can't be trusted. He's been at the club for 3 1/2 years now and he still divides opinion. He is not consistent, he has the ability but chooses more often not to use it. There is also his temperament and injury record. If someone makes a 30+m bid for him we should bite their hands off!
