Lallana ran around and worked hard as usual but that was it, not sure how that constitutes a delightful performance.

Agreed, Hodgson is too cautious and negative. His hand was forced today and we got the result we needed.

Delighted with the win for England today and pleased to see Sturridge get a last minute winner.

I think Hodgson has got a real selection problem for the Slovakia game. Surely Vardy and Sturridge should start after scoring today? I think all the Spurs players with the exception of Kyle Walker are looking tired, Dier has to play but I'd be tempted to leave out Alli and Kane, maybe even Danny Rose.

Joe Hart should have definitely saved Bale's free kick but stick with him.

Team for Slovakia:

Hart

Walker - Cahill - Smalling - Bertrand

Wilshere - Dier - Rooney

Lallana

Vardy - Sturridge

No he didn't and no he isn't a great technician, how many goals and assists does he contribute? I cannot believe people are fooled by a good work rate, he really isn't that good.

Successful national team pick players based on how well they suit the manager's tactics and they're ability, surely?

There's too much emphasis on the player's form when Hodgson picks his teams.

What are you basing Sturridge is England's best striker on?

And to say Hodgson focuses too much on player form when picking the team is completely wrong, otherwise Vardy and Drinkwater would be starting. Also if it was based on form why have Sterling, Wilshere and Stones been included in the squad? With Sterling starting both games.

He's picking too many of the Spurs players. It's my opinion that Sturridge is the best striker. There hasn't been a time I don't think where Sturridge has been fully fit for a decent length of time and he has been the main central striker for Liverpool with the whole setup around him like Kane has had a Spurs. Sturridge has proven yet again today he doesn't need a team built around his strengths to play well unlike Kane because he has got so many good attributes.

That cross to Sterling should have been an assist today. He created some other good chances in the first match that could have been finished. He has got an end product, although admittedly he's probably not the best at shooting from too far out because he does lack power in his shots.

I'd play Clyne. Wales were encouraging England to give the ball to Walker because he's not the strongest in possession and his delivery into the box wasn't that great on the occasions he did actually get it into the box.

I'd probably play Wilshere as long as he's not too greedy.

And play Sturridge for may be about 60 minutes or longer if required.

After watching Lallana for two seasons at Liverpool he doesn't have enough end product for the position he plays, his goals and assists prove that for me.

I find him so frustrating to watch and I won't be taken in by an impressive work rate. If your first choice for Liverpool and England you should have the top level quality needed as well as the work rate and application.

One of the most frustrating players ever Chris,it's no wonder we can't be arsed with him anymore.

That job interview was going so well until I realized I was fukked up on acid in the middle of a cornfield naked and talking to a scarecrow.
