i agree to a point about some of the english fans but i blame the russians more this time. it is clearthey have gone there to make trouble so what is the english fans ment to do? just get there head kicked in? Fair point and I believe the Russians are more to blame, hence why I said they should be kicked out and have the World Cup taken away from them. However there is a video doing the rounds today of a big group of English lads threatening 2 Russians who are trying to back away. That makes us just as bad as them. We are also the most well known nation for racist chanting, upsetting the locals by damaging the streets and buildings and generally being complete and utter drunken a***holes! Why can fans of other countries get along, have a beer together and enjoy the football but we can't? It happens every tournament and it won't change until proper punishments are brought in.

But they ARE both guilty, sure it's a minority of English fans but it's a minority of Russians too. Doesn't matter where you're from, you don't go to another country and make a complete arsehole of yourself.

Seems by reading and viewing numerous reports on the trouble that there are the usual English supporters in stand-offs with police/the scenes of goading etc etc and a few hurling beer bottles at them and then the Russian hooligans who have actually targeted England fans at certain pubs in which they drink specifically looking for fights and to cause as much mischief as possible.
In this situation what are you going to do sit there and get kicked to death? I would be fighting back myself if in that position and damn rightly so.
Sadly, with our history we are always going to be an easy target and it is up to the hosting nation to ensure they have plans in place so that England fans are isolated as much as possible from that type of situation.
That has obviously failed miserably and I bet the French have turned down assistance to a large degree from us out of pride/face and historic reasons and to hell with the consequences even though we are highly competent in dealing with this.

I get that we've been targeted by the Russians but that doesn't excuse the behaviour of England fans in terms of hostility, damaging local property, participating in racist and sexist chanting and generally being completely drunk and disorderly. I don't want to hide behind the stone of 'our fans have been targeted'. I'm sure we have by a minority of Russians but whether this had happened or not I guarantee our fans would still be letting the country down with the general behaviour. As for standing up for yourself that's all well and good but don't go looking for trouble, unfortunately a lot of England football fans like nothing more than a punch up after a few beers, I find it sad and pathetic if I'm honest.

Who are you actually talking to 'ere '60's, 'cus it seems you are talking to yourself. I seem to have lost the thread on this thread somehow.  All been kicking off in Lille again I see. Disqualify both countries now and stop this pussyfooting around. ALL inguuulund fans should be banned from the WC in 2 years time too, or that's going to turn into WW3  Vish knows who im talking to growls sick of his anti English comments and not just on football re fans Russia has said around 200 hooligans went the England game to start trouble which they suceeded in! dont know re the streets but england always gets the blame and sometime it aint us but one thing is for sure it dont look good for the next world cup in Russia does it ? England fans always get blamed because we are always involved. The only two nations getting in trouble in this tournament seem to be England and Russia, I'm with Growler, kick both teams out and take the World Cup hosting off Russia as well. Extreme measures are the only way to stop this sort of thing. im not saying we havnt done anything wrong and i would agree take any team out whos fans are proven to be in mass fighting just like at heysel italian clubs should of been banned too ! but to say they were both involved so both guilty is like saying the nazi's and jews were both involved so there both guilty that judgement isnt always accurate just saying IS that really the best example you could come up with?

The action on the pitch has really surprised me. Some really good football being played. Fast, good movements, quick passing, not so much of the tired old tika taka (yawn) anymore.

No it doesn't and it's not how it was meant to come across. You make some excellent points there on their general behaviour.
Surprisingly Stan Collymore was caught up in a fracas which is reported in one of the newspapers that I found quite interesting. Worth searching for if you hadn't seen it.
The policing though has been poor and I feel we would have seen a fraction of the trouble we have if this would have been at home.

Loads more arrests after yet another night of thuggery and general misbehaviour from these so called 'fans', heaping more shame on our already much and understandably hated nation....even I and many other English hate it now too. So, why haven't fifa stood by their threat and sent both teams packing as they stated they would if this kicked off again, or have we got to wait for more substantial thuggery first? Utter gutless TW4TS, the lot of them, and that includes the officialdom too
