ST this season- Sturridge, Lacazette, Origi, Ings (+ Firmino). PERFECT!

I don't have much of a clue about lacazette. He's got decent pace, more so acceleration, good strength, I'm just not sure how he'd adapt to the premier league. Or maybe this just stems from my lack of confidence in the current french market. I have some confidence in thomas lemar though, if we could land him for 10 million or so seems like a no brainer to me, even if we keep him as squad/fringe player, obviously he'll want to play though and improve not just join a club to sit on the bench or pick up a wage.

speculation that west ham and spurs might go for lacazette, it's a little bit strange that no club in europe, or particularly arsenal haven't gone for him before? (or have they and not just bid the right amount that lyon were willing to accept at that point in time).

as has been said for the hundreth time, klopp prefers to not play with 2 strikers, so I can't see a lacazette sturridge combination. although firmino would slot in nicely behind them if liverpool chose to opt for a 442 with a diamond in midfield (in which case I'd keep allen and moreno), and were able to keep their shape inside their own half and sacrifice territory. I doubt klopp will use this style of football next season though no matter which striker he signs long term for the club.

31G / 8A in 14/15, 23G / 4A in 15/16. I'd be surprised if he didn't take to the PL tbh, french players seem to do well here.

Lyon's president is notoriously difficult to deal with, wanted min 60m euros for him if I recall. Maybe that's putting people off dealing with him?

I don't know anything about Thomas lemar, but really don't see the need for another 20 year old who will play bit parts in ~10 games a season, would rather Ojo/ Kent etc got the chance.

perhaps, they could well have been put off by the greediness, showed that price to keep him I'd imagine, surprises me that with all man city's money they went for bony over him? is he the next augero/sturridge or not?

didn't say he would play a bit parts, I was just relating that to it doesn't matter if he did as I believe it'll be a good investment anyway. lemar is a more established player than kent/ojo so I have to disagree. some french players do seem to do well here, but sadly the french market isn't made up of all french players, ready for the PL

According to reports we have been given permission to speak to Cologne Left Back Jonas Hector, not seen too much of him, but he looked solid defensively which is what we need, he's a Germany international, I'm hoping we get this one, get the deal sealed quickly Ayre, I'm concerned its been reported we have agreed a deal with Cologne, as other clubs could move in.

Germany's first choice LB, he'll be a massive improvement! Get it done!

Haha, but isn't it fun that Hector was replaced by Emre Can at left back last night when the Germans were playing against Hungary?

Do we already have a good enough left back with us in Can? He actually looked decent when he came on during the second half.

On the other hand Hector was good in the first half too. Assisted to Götze's opening goal for example.

On the third hand Germany were lucky to win last night. Both their goals should have been called off due to offside! laugh

Early days, but the Transfer scene is not looking good. The rest of the top 8 are all active and we are "speculating" again.

I know Klopp has been successful in the Bundesliga in signing developing players, but the EPL is a different ball game with at least 10 clubs with financial clout and seriously good managers and decent squads and they are landing seriously top players and they are all capable of doing very well next season.

I was expecting a fire sale of the dross and lots of serious bidding for monster players.

That's an understatement! It's only the 5th of June!

And no one is doing anything of any note so far. The only one is Arsenal who have (over) spent on that Swiss fella which is a bit of a gamble for me. City have also signed someone who is injured for months too but we're not able to compete with their money anyway.

And did you expect all the 'dross' to be shipped out on the 1st of June? It's going to take time to get rid of players based on the stupid wages we gave them. They're also going to have to want to leave to a certain extent too.

We have the Euros starting in 5 days time so it's going to be reasonable difficult to get players during that time so why not try relaxing and worry about it if we're still in the same position in August?
