I agree, I think Liverpool will be happy to have the player available (a 2 year ban would leave us in limbo paying a highly paid player and not have him as a sellable asset). At the end of the day, Sakho played well second half of the season, he does look like Bambi on ice sometimes, but he seems to pull it off and get a last minute tackle in, his partnership with Lovren was looking good un0til he got banned.

I'm sure Uefa will have some small print in the contracts basically saying they can do as they like with no comeback as you are in a Uefa competition, so I cannot see us getting anything out of Uefa, we just end up pi**ing them off and we will pay for it long term somehow.....

Liverpool need to read the riot act to the players and make sure anything they take is reviewed by club doctors first (I presumed this would be standard practice already).

2 times a Liverpool player has fallen foul of regulatory bs at OT in FSG's tenure. What's remarkably seedy about it is that both regulatory bodies had/have former OT employees stalking the corridors of their HQ's!

FSG MUST now pursue this because if they don't it will keep happening. The ulterior motive is to keep MU at the top of English & European Football by undermining threats to their current status. MU is a goldmine to a lot of powerful people.

Uefa have to be answerable if they have messed up, we will have to see what the official pronouncement is in the next few days, I'm guessing they will want this sorted quickly and out of the news in time for the Euro's as it won't look good, also, if they are saying Sakho is available, the French FA need a chance to sort it all out to see if he can be selected or not.

Sakho could also pursue this himself if he missed the Euro's as this has seriously affected his chances of being selected by France as he hasn't played for 6 weeks or had a chance to prove himself in the France the warm-ups, he will have to rename himself to Wilshire to get in now wink

Wow, some lads must feel pretty daft now demanding he be sacked before even getting the facts...

Great boost for the summer and one less thing for Klopp to fix.

Yes a very positive way of looking at it. To be honest though we were never looking at p1ssing away the £17m we spent on him by letting him go. Club did not disown him or 100% back him but in the spirit of the game ensured he was not selected ahead of any ban. Perhaps in hindsight UEFA will discover their own wrongdoing here and man up to their responsibilities.

The only people we should be sueing are the players for not turning up in the second half and letting Sevilla back in the game in 20 seconds and ontop of that they buckled under the pressure and never reacted. Disgraceful half. I really did feel for Klopp, gave everything but his players let him down.

Deschamps has already said he wont be calling Sakho up to the french squad as it would be disrespectful to the lads he has already called up. We could sue for "loss of chance" to qualify for Europe or CL but in reality, would we really want to get on the bad side of Uefa? I doubt it will happen.

UEFA doesn't do any club any favours or the opposite, so I don't know what getting on the bad side means. If we have ground to sue, we should.
