I Don't want to raise any alarm bells but could gotze be a replacement for coutinho? If I remember correctly in October time Phil said he dreamed of playing for Barcelona and Suarez Neymar etc we're saying it would be an ideal place for him. If history repeats itself usually when the players start suggesting like that Barcelona usually make an approach. I hope not...

Gotze is a better player anyway. Coutinho is brilliant player but only shows up for half the games.

I've considered this too and tried to notify people that gotze could be a potential replacement for coutinho, although it doesn't take a genius since one is underachieving at liverpool for his capabilities? I want to say it wouldn't be a disaster if we sold coutinho, but I think it could be damaging unless mario doesn't work hard. He has the ability it's about delivering

One thing about coutinho though is he always gives his all - that cannot be underrated, and has been an unsung leader for this team this and last season. he was absolutely sensational against spurs in our 1-1 draw last month, most of our attacks went through him?

Wouldn't surprise me it's moneyball. Anyway we haven't signed Gotze yet and his wage demands may well decide if we do or not. Also the outcome of next Wednesdays game will likely have a bearing, wouldn't surprise me if we sold Sturridge either. Selling our best is what we do under these owners, it's policy.

prob depends on whether we get champs league or not...be a shame..coutinho is unreal, fans think if he doesn't score a 30yard belter in one game he hasn't turned up, in fact his consistence has come on in leaps and bounds , has maybe 1 quiet game in 10. much better than gotze atm who is a fat lump and prob take 2 yrs and 10 injuries to get up to prem speed.

Are you saying it wouldn't be a disaster if we sold him or that wouldn't be a disaster if got Gotze and then sold Coutinho?

I don't see gotze being better than coutinho unless he works hard. I'll put it like that, we're not getting as much as we could out of coutinho as it is. then in fairness we're not getting as much out of anyone as we could in our attacking lineup...

if you want to look at it like that, it may be a disaster of business if you like both ways, but whose to say gotze won't work extremely hard. we might see klopp even put lallana on the left, gotze in the middle, and firmino on the right as a possibility

I would prefer Coutinho to stay and let Firmino go, but better if both stay, then Ibe would probably go on loan

It would be completely foolish of us to sell Coutinho. Him, alongside Firmino, Can or Sturidge are the closest thing to world class players that we have. Coutinho probably being the stand out.

If we had Coutinho, Gotze and Firmino behind Sturidge next season, that would be pretty nice to see. That can all play anywhere behind the striker. So they could interchange and make it very hard for opposition defenders. I'd love to have Can and a decent DM behind them, or even a player like Xhaka, Kante of Kondogbia.
