These stories appear every slow news day. There were some reports only the other month if I remember rightly and nothing came of that either.

Where there's smoke there's fire,, and a sell on was always on the cards anyway, FSG have no interest in football, it was always a business investment for them, therefore a sale will always be considered if the right offer comes in and the time is judged to be right. I for one wouldn't rule it out, considering many of the factors required for a beneficial sale is now falling into place.

The source (Star/Express) should normally be dismissed. While I wouldn't pay too much to their specific claims, I believe there is and has been activity in the background which I would only describe as ongoing. I don't see anything happening imminently. JWH has a plan and so far he's stuck to it regardless of what other FSG shareholders allegedly want

He left Villa to play for money bags city?
But it's a rhetorical question.

But it's a rhetorical question. That doesn't make him a mercenary! It was a step up in his career, he left Man City and came to us because it wasn't about money but playing every week! The best example of a mercenary is Emmanuel Adebayor.

The best example of a mercenary is Emmanuel Adebayor. That's what he meant. He was using Milner (a model professional) as a counterpoint. It is an interesting question: what constitutes mercenary? The crazy transfers that go on these days, it's hardly black and white. Adebayor, most would agree, is a Mercenary, but going to Real Madrid was a step up from Arsenal, but it didn't work out, and he ended up leaving for playing time (and money) to go to City. His moves to Spurs and Palace have also been moves for playing time, to be fair. He's a lazy git, and not the best person in the world, but he could have rotted on the bench at larger clubs for a nice paycheck, but he wanted to play, I suppose.

Forget I said it lol. You know what I meant, some players will sign for the highest bidder in terms of wages, others sign for footballing reasons, to play more etc or because they want to play for a special club.
All the money Chelsea and Man City have spent they should be winning the league every year and dominating English football. They don't though because they don't have players who really care about the club or the fans, they only care about their salary. Chelsea were just lucky they had Lampard and Terry already there, otherwise they would have won sod all. I'd rather we have players who want to play for Liverpool, not the highest bidder. I hope we carry on as we are tbh, I can see the light at the end of the tunnel finally.

Adebayor left Arsenal for Man City and was then loaned by Man City to Real Madrid. He left Arsenal for financial reasons, nothing else. He was then loaned to Spurs where he played well enough to secure a permanent move and contract but then went back to being lazy hence why they wanted rid of him. For someone who looked very good at Arsenal his career hasn't half go downhill, hence why he is now a bench player at Crystal Palace.

I agree, and yet those two sets of mercenaries have won a hatful of league titles in the last 10 years or so that we haven't. Bar Chelsea's aberration of a season this year, they both have consistently been faring better than us.
Maybe City should have done more, especially this year, but in the past 6 years they've won an FA cup, 2 league cups, and 2 league titles, and they are in the champions league semifinals.
Chelsea have had a disaster, but in that 6 year period, they won the FA cup twice, the league twice, the champions league, the Europa league, and the league cup. Have the mercenaries worked out that badly for them?
