Football is nothing without rivalry, and our hatred, in a way is a sign of respect. You don't hate a club that isn't important. They are our greatest rivals, and I will continue to hat them, call them scum, and enjoy the rivalry.

That said, I have many friends who are United friends, and we have always been civil and respectful about non-football related things. The banter is healthy.
you have a very strange friendship my friend where you think of your friends as scum and you openly admit to hating them, really don't know what to make of that, does that sort of hatred stretch to black or Asian friends you may have, what I mean is do you call them vile names and then try to pass it off as healthy rivalry or that sort of thing only comes out in you over football... just bizzare..

Smack talking a person's football team is hardly the same as a racial slur. I hate United, not my friends that are fans. Football is a theatre. The fans and players the actors. During the match, they are the enemy. When it's over, things return as they were, with just the occasional joke and jibe about scum and bin dippers, etc. The same way an actor goes back to being regular bloke, even though I may have despised the character he played.

It has nothing to do with them as people, just football. If you don't understand the separation, then this game is not for you. May I suggest checkers? Or croquette?
calling your friends scum because they support a different team than you, my, my, does that stretch to family members if they support a different team. I know you have decided to adopt Liverpool Football Club as your so called team so you wouldn't understand that here in Liverpool families are split down the middle some red and some blue so what would you think it was alrite to call your dad, Brother or maybe sister Scum for supporting Everton, this is how stupid you are to try and justify it..

Typical, someone explains perfectly why you're talking $hite and you resort to OOT barbs again because you know you can't retort. You're embarrassing yourself.

isnt this the same person who talked about wanting to throw something at Sterling at Wembley in an earlier thread, now that's really low so I won't be preached by the likes of you my friend..

You want preaching young Spangler

Matthew 7:5 - Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.

Ezekiel 25:17. "The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men.Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee."

Sounds like Clint Eastwood in Pale Rider...God where o where did all the good westerns go?? Can’t even remember when I read or even seen a good cowboy book...loved all that stuff! Think it may have reminded me of the wide open spaces I grew up in!
Love a Western too Herc,Once upon a time in the west, the good, the bad and the Spangly but this quote comes from Jules Winnfield in Pulp Fiction played by Samuel L Jackson and directed by Tarantino who as it happens has just made a new movie called The Hateful Eight which is kind of a Western, looks promising.

Is that because you don't have the brain power to do anything else? Don't get your own way and when people 'spangled' you, you resort to trying the wind (notice no e on the end?) up? You really are pathetic.

yeah well I can remember the fights too stan from a hands on point of view in the pubs and clubs I worked and I stand by what I said because more utd fans used to come the percentage of idiots I have had to string up to balustrades with their red white and black scarfs tied round their necks waiting for the local police to pinch them was more! believe what you like probably some you have referred to were more hard core but I got really sick of utd fans and used to run out of balustrades to which to tie the mongrels to some nights

Yes but your experience can't be extrapolated accross the country simply the sample in your world all clubs in the 1970,s had hooligans including Liverpool but certain clubs were notorious I will give you an example there have been two movies made of West Ham fans in the 1970's and one of Chelsea fans millwall were also in it. Should you be right why has one never been made of united fans ? This is not to say United had no hooligans as you experienced but there were far worse firms out there extremely violent including murder.

your completely right Stanley, all clubs had an element of hooligan fans but those of the three London Clubs were the main ones because they were so organised. United and us were still traveling on football specials when West Ham traveled business class and slipped underneath the radar, there organisation in trouble was on a completely different level to the rest of the country...

United had one of the worst firms ever, the Red Army. When they were relegated in 74/75 they went on the rampage up and down the country, they were the reason fencing and crowd segregation were introduced..fukking SCUM
