That said, they are scum, and they like it that way. They call us the bin dippers, and I wouldn't have it any other way. Football is nothing without rivalry, and our hatred, in a way is a sign of respect. You don't hate a club that isn't important. They are our greatest rivals, and I will continue to hat them, call them scum, and enjoy the rivalry.

That said, I have many friends who are United friends, and we have always been civil and respectful about non-football related things. The banter is healthy.
you have a very strange friendship my friend where you think of your friends as scum and you openly admit to hating them, really don't know what to make of that, does that sort of hatred stretch to black or Asian friends you may have, what I mean is do you call them vile names and then try to pass it off as healthy rivalry or that sort of thing only comes out in you over football... just bizzare..

I think this can be seen quite clearly in some of the posts of the younger kids on the forum like Prophet, wikij1975 and Donut, I think when you see how impressionable the likes of these younger posters are and there use of the word scum to describe fellow fans from opposing teams, besides feeling a bit sorry for them you have to remember younger fans like these do follow like sheep as they know no different. and are very impressionable, I think when you see some of the posts these young kids post you can also see exactly how these things have escalated into songs about Hillsborough and Munich and further more in to violence on occasions for some. Just my thoughts anyway..

This bit I agree with you on. Calling rival fans/clubs "scum" is truly pathetic and shouldn't be tolerated in today's society.

the only thing I can try to defend them with is its just the kids on the forum who use this term, they probably think it's cool to call opposing fans it and probably pick it up in the schools. I think we should just try to educate them a bit and point it out to them it's wrong but the problem is they take is so personal and don't like tellings off like naughty school boys don't, never mind tho they will learn as they get older...

How on earth can you compare calling the opposition fans 'scum' with racially abusing someone?!? It's a pathetic attempt at trying to prove a point and just shows how out of touch you are.

There's a weapon that we can use
In our defense, silence
Well, just look at them, look right through them
That's when they disappear, that's when we lose the fear

That job interview was going so well until I realized I was fukked up on acid in the middle of a cornfield naked and talking to a scarecrow.

everything has to start somewhere, the name calling turns into, hatred which in turn can turn into violence, there are always stages, racial abuse has stages to, so does homophobia so you see it all started somewhere. The amount of hatred towards opposing fans on here is not good at all. So you say calling opposing fans scum and singing songs about disasters isn't too bad and your playing it down, what you think would of happened if there was no police at Anfield the other night or Old Trafford on Thursday and tell me again it's not on the same scale...
