Just watching BBC north west it showed the 70th anniversary of the burnden park disaster when 30 fans lost their lives due to a crush. You won't believe this but the decision was taken to start the game and they played the match with the dead piled up behind the goal while the game continued never heard of anything like it in my life and this was Britain in 1946 not medieval times.

Neither had I, I knew about the disaster but never realised that if you google it it's true they played more or less the whole game with the dead piled up behind the goal the reason was there was no communication and most of the huge 80k crowd did not know what was going on and they must have thought it was safer to carry on rather than risk more deaths I guess but extraordinary

Ah now Stan doesn’t all the world know that Britain is still a monarchy with hereditary lordships handed down since William the conquerer! The concept and practice of inherited privilege (wrested by the sword) was Medieval then and is medieval still. Time ye guys got rid of all that shyte.

I'd imagine that a pile of dead bodies was a common sight for the majority in the days following the war.

That job interview was going so well until I realized I was fukked up on acid in the middle of a cornfield naked and talking to a scarecrow.

That's probably true Britain was still on a war footing basically and piles of dead bodies after air raids would have been fresh in the memory

You must lose a part of your humanity when you go through hell.
