You'll only drive yourself round the bend Stan.

We don't have the resources to just go out and spend like Rockerfellas (only 5 or 6 clubs in world football can realistically) We need to go the route of stability and patience - we have a top top manager in and we need to give him time to build.

It's a funny task Klopp has ahead of him... the way I see it is our back 5 (regardless of which players take the field) are of poor quality, our midfield is made up almost entirely of utility players and our strikers.... well our strikers are either young, injury prone or ill suited to our style of play.

Klopp has a huge job on his hands - as will the next manager if the fans turn on Klopp and chase him away.

The squad he's inherited isn't that bad. 2 or 3 good players in the summer and we should have the quality to properly compete for top 4.

There hasn't been a reaction since Klopp took over like Tom Werner was expecting. And also, he didn't have to pick Moreno in the cup final either.

If we won the Europa by some miracle then I would class this season as a successful one, but otherwise I we will be waiting until next season to see what Klopp can do.

The defence flaps, the midfield is uncreative and he strikers are almost entirely without any form as one is still injured and the other two are coming back from injury (I don't even count Benteke anymore)

Three new players could possibly sort out the midfield and attack (to an extent) but the defence.... apart from Clyne I would pretty much move the rest of them on.

Be interesting to see how Klopp goes about it all - if he focuses on one area (ie. the defence) or tries to fix it all at once. We've already signed a center half and I'd be tempted to go out and sign another along with a keeper - that might be enough to patch it for now.
Something has to be done about the midfield though, playing Hederson / Lucas / Milner together is completely stale. Where do you start???

sounds like we have become a very patient lot. We need to be careful that we don't become complacent.

We might be some not so good players compared to City and Chelsea, but I don't think we can put it all down to that. The teams following teams are within 3 points of our league position or doing better:

West Brom; Stoke; Everton; Southampton, Watford, West Ham and of course Leicester. (I have ignored the obvious teams)

Are we saying all of the above have better players than us in most positions?

Watford, West Brom, Stoke... are you serious?
West Ham too... and they have a manager who is as new as Klopp

So I think it's something more than the players. Hopefully Klopp is the man to put it right.

Maybe they don't have "better" players, but more rounded squads. Instead of a shed load of utility players they have wingers playing as wingers, midfielders who give the team dimention instead of our flat midfield.

If we were to take out one of Hendo / Milner / Lucas, who would we replace them with - Allen??? The other option would be Lallana, an attacking utility player.

None of these players are bad, but they should never have been assembled in the same squad together.

We need more specialist players in order to move forward, we have far to many of these players who can fill in, but don't actually excel in any position.

I agree about the scale of the job, time required (to a certain extent), Klopp needs to be given time and support etc. All I'm saying is that we will need to start seeing progress next season.

You asked where should he start given that there appear to be problems all over the pitch. I would opt for investing in the back five and sticking with what we have elsewhere if we can't afford it. Get the foundation right. Becoming hard to beat is the way to go.

Agree with Dunk.

I look at most of the squad and think 'are they good enough or not?'.
I can't make up my mind. Henderson maybe. Can, Lallana, Benteke/Origi, Firmino, even Countinho's painfully inconsistent. Milner's a workhorse and Allen/Lucas are back-up.
I don't really know where people fit in either..

Hopefully Lucas becomes the new Masch and we don't see him in midfield again.

I don't know where Klopp will start to be honest and apart from GK, don't know where to prioritise.

Hopefully a few 'Top' players will make the difference and bring the best out of the current squad.

That's my issue. Where's Milners best position, Can, Lallana, Firmino?
We're desperate for a DM & maybe an out and out winger. Wonder if Marko will feature next year.

I don't know if Rodgers knew or he just threw money around, if they were his decisions.
