Aguero is a world class striker, he has made mugs of proper and better defenders than Lucas, credit where its due.

I've previously said the sooner he is replaced the better, but maybe his new found role can be as a defender permanently so there won't be any need to replace him personally. City aren't exactly the best at putting testing crosses in, if lucas plays centre back against utd he'll probably be tested even more, coped decently with the aerial threat against city.

I don't understand why Milner and Henderson didn't take them. Strange Lucas going before them. Coutinho and Lallana sort of make sense, but not before Henderson and Milner.

Completely agree with you there!

The captain always takes the first penalty in my books! If he isn't a penalty taker then he can't be the captain either. End of!

Henderson, Milner, Can. There's my three first takers. After that it should have been 2 forward players. Sturridge and Origi preferrably. Or Benteke had he been playing.

Lucas scored a penalty for us in an earlier round of the cup. Maybe Klopp opted for him because of that, and/or the fact he stepped forward and volunteered to take one.

Coutinho and Lallana are no pen takers IMO. They both seem too soft minded to be able to keep cool in a moment like that.

All in all this gives a hint of what a terrible squad BR has left us with. A captain who hides behind other players at a critical stage of a cup final? A striker who simulates (?) injury or cramps just before the final whistle - to warrant him being excused from taking a massive penalty for himself, the squad and the club.

What a terrible mess!

For me Lallana should never have been subbed on in the game. We were a goal behind and chasing. What to do then? Why not put a striker on? Origi came on in the end, but it should have been him in the 72:nd minute instead of Lallana for Moreno. Then Benteke in the 80:th minute instead for Firmino.
