You have to look a bit deeper into these pundits and there motives. When Souness took over he drew a line down the club and said players and officials this side journalists, pundits and ex players that side, because Liverpool had never done this before it put alot of people especialy the media out, they did not like this and savaged Souey every chance they got in the papers and in radio and television. Now fast forward to Gerrard Houllier he was different again he run the club like a dictatorship, he let people from the media inside but if anyone reported something he did'nt like or in the way he wanted, they were banned from the club completely this happend to Liverpool greats like Ian St John and Alan Kennedy. This feller we have now is even worse because he is deeper, darker and far more political, he uses mind games and also preys on Liverpool fans weak minds to gain power, he usues conflict to help him gain the upper hand like he has done with Parry and this is what he is doing now by playing the club off against Juventus, Inter Milan and AC Milan he is doing it now to get what he wants when negotiating for things he wants this summer. He has recently brought Ian Rush and Kenny Dalglish to the club because he knows this will gain support from the fans so that when he goes into battle, the fans will be with him and not against him, the fan power is a major weapon especialy given the clubs situation at present and he knows this. The point about ex players and the media I am making is that all these ex players get well looked after by the club and Benitez and none of them want to lose there privlidges like the Saint and Barney Rubble did so thats why Barnsey and Aldridge say things without being controversial, I reckon they think differently privately, they must do to see through the current manager.
