Torres and Suarez probably would have won us the league Agreed, that would have been a phenomenal strike force.

Luis Suarez, though I'd still take Torres in his prime over him O_O They were different players Torres was an out and out striker Suarez more an attacking playmaker Torres the rush Suarez the Beardsley however remember Liverpool bought them to play together then Torres decided to leave and the Carrol madness started. Torres and Suarez probably would have won us the league no suarez was both, an attacking playmaker and OAO striker.

I'm thinking along the lines of you aren't going to get torres in his prime in '13, so would you rather have sturridge? probably. How would have suarez fitted in the 09 team? Would there have been a team good enough in between those years which would have given them the chance to challenge?

Torres' game was based completely around his first touch, acceleration, and finish. He was lethal for us, but after the knee problems he was never the same, for us our chelsea. Suarez could and play any attacking position: Target man, out and out 9, winger, CAM, second striker. Better passer, better dribbler, and while not as natural a finisher he scored more goals. Less pacy than Torres was, but his game is more about graft and clever movement than pace itself. Suarez is and was a better player.

You don't have to be complete in all departments to be an out an out striker. So because Suarez's dribbling ability was better torres isn't an OAO striker? Agree with you about their game compositions.

Sorry, I meant to respond to Spangles who said Torres was more complete, which is bolx.
And Torres was a great OAO ST, but Suarez is better at, though he could do other jobs. He was an OAO ST in 2012-13 for us, and he is one for Barca now.

Sturridge is a pretty good OAO striker.

I think we are long overdue a meaningless debate about whom you think was Liverpool's greatest ever player.
Answers such as I am too young to know of player x or it all depends what position we are talking about are forbidden you all know what is meant by greatest ever player
In my opinion it's close between Suarez and Barnes but I think Suarez edges it Definitely Suarez for me.
