We have the 5:th highest wage bill in the PL. Yes we have gotten rid of some high earners already mentioned above. But I'd say we have instead partly replaced them with other high earners (Benteke Milner and Firmino for example). The fact that few of these have yet taken off and proven themselves worthy of their salary is a totally different matter IMO. Here's the list: Christian Benteke £140,000 Daniel Sturridge £120,000 James Milner £120,000 Mario Bolatelli £110,000 Jordan Henderson £100,000 Roberto Firmino £100,000 Lucas Leiva £80,000 Martin Skrtel £75,000 José Enrique £75,000 Coutinho £75,000 Nathaniel Clyne £70,000 Adam Lallana £65,000 Mamadou Sakho £65,000 Dejan Lovren £65,000 Kolo Touré £65,000 Danny Ings £60,000 Lazar Markovic £60,000 Simon Mignolet £60,000 Emre Can £55,000 Joe Allen £45,000 Jon Flanagan £35,000 Alberto Moreno £25,000 Tiago Ilori £20,000 Ádám Bogdán £15,000 Divock Origi £15,000 Joe Gomez £10,000 Jordan Ibe £10,000 João Carlos Teixeira £5,000 Source: http://www.dailiesroom.com/liverpool-players-weekly-salary-20152016-full-squad/

Haha. Who knows. But might that perhaps be the reason he is refusing to leave us before his contract expires?

I really wish the Henry & Werner apologists would think rather than blindly supporting them.
If your owners can't even be bothered to watch the games then you can bet your bottom dollar that they are not fussed if we lose or win either.
As far as I can see all FSG have done is cost cut the club to huge extent.
Our big earners let go Reina, Agger, Johnson, Joe Cole, Gerrard, Suarez, Kuyt, Carragher, the list goes out on.
Replaced by players on literally peanuts, and it is true you pay peanuts and you get monkeys - no offence to Lambert, Caulker, and the rest of our championship signings.
The FSG apologists constantly harp on about them saving us and how no one else wanted to own the truth.
Reality check, if the club went on the market today we would get countless offers from people who could take us further than Hicks and Werner oooops wrong way round Henry and Gillett.
Either way once you fall for the old FSG PR charm and the Linda effect you are well and truly lost. None of these were a cost-cutting exercise though: Reina: Had been on the decline for 3 or 4 years. Not good enough to be a No1 at LFC Agger: injury prone. now playing for denmark's 5th best team. wanted out because Rodgers didn't have faith in him. Not an FSG decision Johnson: Defensive liability - was released for ability reasons ahead of financial Cole: Complete garbage and always injured. Good riddance to bad rubbish. Gerrard: way past his best and chose to leave. It had to happen at some time and isn't a reflection on FSG in my opinion. He wasn't going to last forever! Kuyt: way past his best and not even close to being fast enough for our new style of play Suarez: best player in the world who wanted to further his career. He wasn't sold to improve our wage bill!!!! Carragher: retired Not really sure why you mentioned these players as they don't really support our argument. It's rather an arbitrary list of ex-players that you wish were still at the club. Time waits for no man.....

Agree with everything except for 2, Reina was better than Mignolet and letting him go for 2m was nonsense + SG should have been convinced to stay and I think he would have agreed a wage cut as he is earning less in the US. I think that the 1st one is an FSG decision and the 2nd one was more Rodgers and the way he made SG feel unwanted.

we cant be sure of anyone taking over from FSG will be any good than the current lot running the club.
if fsg have no interest in football and dont know what is best for LFC then they wont give a flying ffuck about the credibility of the buyer.they will just think to maximize their earning.
has anyone (outside FSG) got a say in who they sell the club to? i dont think so.
FSG might not be like chelsea or city owners but i still think with the whole red sox story and success, they cant be as bad as H & G. they might not know about football but they do know how to turn things around
will they all of a sudden start prioritizing lfc over red sox? No but they need to be more committed or sell up

Well looks like they are rising ticket prices, not sure the entertainment currently on show is worth the money.
