Say we manage to get Sturridge back for a run of games and we play him as you say with Benteke (which looks the best option) even if Sturridge pulls players away (similar to roles when he played with Suarez) will Benteke manage to convert the chances we get in games when you may only get a couple and they need sticking away?

For me Balotelli in that situation is that clinical finisher, Beneteke I just don't think has it but hopefully I'm wrong.

Your thoughts?

When you operate in a diamond formation, the 2 strikers have to take up unorthodox positions at times, go wide to recieve the ball, come deeper, try to retain the ball, put in crosses to their fellow striker. It's non counter attacking, but attacking nonetheless. This formation still involves pressing, just pressing in your own half.

Christian should be able to manage that, if not, it's worth signing Lacazette anyway, and/aswell/or help Origi become a better PL striker. Bringing Ballotelli back for me is another good option, to have atleast 2/3/4 forwards in your team who you are comfortable with putting into your first team would be fantastic, the stuff of challengers. It would be up to klopp to decide which combination he chooses. But with all the injuries, quality in depth is essential. Which is why it annoys me now, that we are looking at signing a swedish left winger, it is better to have 1 DM, and 1 AM, than 1 LW, and 1 RW. narrower is better and suits sturridge type players more, than wider, and trying to suit benteke type players. We can be better than wider, we can prove it by beating wider, as we did against Leicester. Benteke needs to adapt to us, not us adapting to Benteke.

You are right to bring up the fact Benteke may not have an abundance of chances, though chances will also come to our attacking midfielder firmino who for Brazil loves to make runs into the box, at the point of the diamond he will have free reign to do that, just as Sterling did, if we operate as we should in it. I think Benteke is more superior in the air than mario, and this would be a better way of adding goals to our game via crossing, than trying to force it.

Acting as one of the 2 forwards I believe it will be easier to pick out Benteke get the service he needs from wide areas. I actually think Benteke would score more goals than Sturridge over the course of the season if he was able to get confidence in this system.
