I firmly believe Liverpool Football Club will never win the English Premier League again with the footballing landscape the way it is and it seriously looks like we are going to fall from being the fifth best Club in the country to 7th or 8th when Spurs and West Ham move into there new stadiums in one and two seasons time respectively.

Don't agree with this, we don't have any world class teams in the Premier league to overcome. Just 2 good teams in Arsenal and Man City and 1 decent team in Spurs. There is no reason we can't beat them with a top manager (which I believe we have) and some good signings. The problem is our signings have been consistently terrible. Personally I think Rodgers is to blame, the transfer comittee myth has been exposed when Ayre confirmed that the Rodgers had the final say and that our system is pretty much the same as every other club.

I think the next few years we are going to see an open premier league with no team dominating.

Chelsea aren't out of top 4 yet...

Not that they're the greatest of owners, but Rodgers can't claim he didn't have money to spend. I can barely remember a signing in the last 3 years that hit the ground running. They don't even seem awful signings, we just seem cursed.
Markovic, Lallana, Lovren, Balo, Allen, Aspas, Alberto - I'd add Moreno to that list as he can't defend, Mignolet is awful with his crouching tiger starting position, and it's looking dangerously like it's happened again this summer with Benteke and Firmino.

If only 2 o 3 had come off..

Lets hope Klopp gets the same support and brings in proven players from abroad. A bit of quality will hopefully bring the best out of the underperformers.

You need to ask yourself if Klopp was at Dortmund how many of our current squad would he legitimately want to sign?

No top team would sign Sturridge due to his constant injuries.

the answer would be zero.

I would always go for the Best of British when it comes to the backline and Goalkeeper. We have suffered for decades through having a mix of foreign players at the back. With having that mix comes the complications of communication, gelling in a new country / environment and having to play many more games.
If I was Klopp I'd make the likes of Butland, Stones and the likes of Shawcross and Bertrand as a priority!

Butland is a possibility.

There is zero chance of us ever signing John Stones.

We had a chance with Bertrand and passed that up, he's decent but nothing more.

I wouldn't want Shawcross anywhere near LFC, he's a proper donkey.

Well I would prefer at least one british CB. Hyypia and Carragher is one of the best CB partnership the club has ever had so they don't both need to be british. I think Gomez could be the answer there if he can get himself fit. I always liked Wisdom too, its a shame he hasn't been given a chance there. Did really well at right back a few years ago but hasn't had a look in since. I really don't see many other British Cb's out the who I'd want us to sign. Maybe Cahill if he'd come? Zouma's preferred to him at the moment so maybe he'd come for first team football?

Butland would be an excellent signing. Bertrand is OK but not great. Would certainly be an improvement on Moreno though. May see Flanno back at left back soon.
